Not sure what to call this, but after every poop (and sometimes pee), my corgi mix kicks back her feet (like a dance) in an attempt to cover up her poop (like a cat). I try to discourage this behavior because now that it is spring time and the ground is soft, she is tearing up our lawn and our neighbor's lawns. Is this a corgi characteristic and has anyone been successful in getting their dog to stop doing it?
Thanks!

Yes, Corie does that too!! She also pees 20 times on our walks,i figure she is marking... ?
Bear did it at 7 weeks old....and still does.
Goldy has never done it.
My Niki does this too. I think it's hilarious especially in leaf piles. Sorry about the lawns.
Callie will do it sometimes. I never discouraged it, but she doesn't do it too often. Like others have said lots of animals do it to mark.
Both of my Corgis do it. One male and one female. It is kind of funny when they kick grass/dirt on each other because they have to sniff each others poo. I have never tried to stop them unless we are at the neighbor and then I just distract them.
Minnie has always done this, and now lil Fergie is joining in on the action. My daughters think it is absolutely hilarious though, as when I bend down to pick the poop up, I usually get grass or snow kicked at me. As if being that familiar with poop wasn't insult enough!

Oh and how fun there is another Fergie!
