I am just writing because I am annoyed... sorry, I have to get this off my chest.

I went to FOUR places today with Tegan. Three pet stores, and a dog park, and AT LEAST 9 people asked if he was a corgi mix? No one thought he was pure bred....

is he really not that pretty of a corgi or it cause he's a tri color? Do other tri colors get this comment? He's a little long for a corgi, but he is proper height! (he's a chunk though.) Feel free to look at his pics on our page and let me know.

I'm so annoyed. I get that every time we go anywhere and I'm beginning to get offended. :(

If you think that's bad...I met this chick at the dog park who thought her ( obviously) pembroke was a cardigan because she was a black tri and "pembrokes don't come in this color". I had to laugh and tell her that my daughter had a black tri pemmie and that her dog was definitly a pem. Ignorance abounds!!
Don't worry about those people. Most of the peoplewe run into don't even know what a Corgi is. I get the mix breed question so much it's crazy. The most popular is the Doxie/something else mix. I'm like "nope...she's pure Corgi". So don't worry, your baby is pure Corgi and absolutely gorgeous!!
I got all tiffy when the vet's office asked me if Pooh was a corgi mix. I was very offended. Some people just don't realize how different some look. Pooh looked like your regular everyday red and white corgi but corgi's aren't common where I'm from. I would just correct them and not let it get to me! He looks pretty pure to me... and HANDSOME! lol Have a good one!
i have this happen to me also! i know what u mean lol i think its because most people are use to seeing the tan and white color corgis. your corgi is very handsome little guy, so cute! hes all corgi to me:) mostly if the person knows teddy is a corgi they always go "wow, such a beautiful blue color he has!" it makes my husband laugh lol
"He's an experimental hybrid, part Pandemonian Luminary and part Devonian Fishback. He's just small for these breeds, and they rarely come in this color, that's why people sometimes don't recognize him, especially with his pronounced zither. But his sire was a bigtime show dog, imported from Appalusia, Best Of Breed at Eastchester in '03..."
John, if I could memorize that I'd use it!

So far Gromit has been recognized as a Corgi or simply "What kind of dog is that?" With my previous two Corgi pals I sometimes got the "Is that a mixed breed" question. I'd then in retaliation launch into a complete history of the Corgi breed...make 'em really suffer for their question.

Side story: Our wiener dog, Holly, has a very large vertical scar on her side, a souvenir of a dog bite that got infected. When someone asks about it our new answer is to tell them that she was too long so we had her shortened by taking a section out.
I just love your Answer to the dog Bite scar =)
"He swallowed a spring-loaded switchblade knife..."
you are brilliant with a slightly twisted sense of humor... now I have to freind you!
I agree lol =)
He is definitely one very cute Corgi!!!!
MIranda gets it all the time, but she is a fluffy cardi. People come up with odd combos too. I find it funny and ask them what they are thinking of before I tell them. She was a daucshund bernise mountian dog mix, a husky beagle mix. dont let it bother you, people see what they like, if they like beagles, they tend to see beagles.
