I started taking Lance to the groomers, since my neighbor who lived
around the corner from me was a groomer. Since I knew her, she allowedme to stay there with Lance. I started taking Lance probably around a year of age. Her grooming table was long which is good since he isa long dog and it was also up against a wall. He is a big scaredy cat when it comes to getting groomed but luckily such a good boy. :) After learning more about how corgis can not like having their paws
touched, I am glad that we got him used to that as soon as we did! I went to my neighbor for quite some time and then stopped going due to her going through a divorce and she would eventually end up moving. The last time I took Lance to get groomed there she had her sick cat in
the grooming room with us :O
I really take him to the
groomers twice a year when the shedding season is at its worse! Corgis
really are easy to groom ourselves, so we pretty much do that. Well its that time of year again and I took Lance to the groomer, I had found close to the house, well not as close as walking around the
block, haha, but driving only takes us 10 minutes to get there. When we first starting going to the new groomers I also was allowed to stay in the grooming area, which I was glad since I have gotten used to that. The other reason I was glad, is because the grooming table is a circular shape and not very big at all, esepcially for a cardgian welsh corgi! One wrong turn and boom he could end up on the floor, and seeing hes pretty nervous and moves around alot that could have happened!! So today I was pleasantly surprised to see they have a new grooming table that is low to the ground!!! I still stayed in the store and looked around while he was getting groomed.(Luckily even though he saw me he didnt let on...good boy) :) As I past the grooming window I just saw Lance sitting all wrapped up in a towel on the table. The other dog was getting washed while Lance was towel drying. When we first started going there he was taken care of from start to finish. Im wondering if maybe business is picking up for them and this is why they do this? I did question the owner about this as I thought it was kinda of strange!? She offered me an explanation and said that if the groomer didnt do it this way, then she would only be able to groom 4 dogs a day? We havent been to many grooming places, actually only my neighbors and now this place so I was just curious.
I
am happy with the services, so far so good. He came out looking clean as a whistle, the white is so shiny, its almost blinding, lol. Its amazing how clean they look after a bath even though he doesnt look that dirty going in. Lance also came out wearing a grooming bandanna, so cute! Would have been even cuter with corgis on it, lol. He is such a nervous nelly, the groomer brought him out to me and he wanted nothing to do with her after he was all done. Im glad that as nervous
as he gets, he is a good boy and lets the groomer do her job without him complaining. He did accept a treat from her though once he was all done. They also gave him a bandanna, so cute!
