Does anyone else's Corgi do this?

Hello everyone,

Since Stella was a puppy, she'd lean her mouth against the bars of her crate when I put her in before I leave. She doesn't growl, bark or move, she just rests her mouth against the bars. It looks uncomfortable to me! I've also never had a dog that's done this. Does anyone else's Corgi do this? I've included a photo of it below.

I know, everyone who's seen it thinks it's both hilarious and creepy! She has some odd behaviors, odder than other dogs I've had. And not really "bad" behaviors, just weird ones! She's my first Corgi, and I've read on this site how they are little clowns :)

Casey's done this a few times. I always assumed the bars had a good taste, or perhaps she liked the cool feeling on her gums (it was mostly while she was teething that she would do this, and now when she does it, it's usually followed by several licks).

Odin does that. He got his bottom jaw stuck once:( It was the saddest thing I have ever heard! I had to help him out. I got worried leaving him alone for a while after that.

Hello Nicole and Stella - our 10 month old PWC Chinook regularly rests her mouth on the bars when she is in her pen at our brewery, then her lips get smushed - she seems to like her head up when lying down - I think mostly because she likes to see what is going on....gives us chuckles for sure. Cheers!

That is so cute! I was wondering if she did it the first time when she was teething because it felt good, and now it's a self-comforting thing? She looks silly. :-)

Edison does it all the time, to the point where it rolls his lip up. This would look scary, but by that point he's usually asleep... we don't know why either!

LOL. Nibbler does this too! Before I go to work, I set up a gate in the kitchen that lets her go out the doggie door but keeps her in the kitchen. She will sometimes lie down and look at me with her teeth just like that, and sigh at me.
