My corgi doesn't mind her toys we have only found one that she really loved, that she picked out one day while we went to Pet Planet to pick up food(rubber sqeeky heart with a tail that is black and white(just like hers if she had one, we say she found her tail that her tail was cut off and made into a toy so she could actually chase her tail easier, A Little Dark I Know Sorry). But with my dads new 1 year old bengal we have noticed she loves cat toys. She plays with Stoli's toys more than Stoli does and more than she plays with hers. She goes bonkers over this little nemo like catnip stuffed fish. It is like she is a cat on catnip. She grabs it and tosses it the air, ketches or trys to ketch it then fraps around with it. Or acts as if she is hunting the fish down. Is catnip okay for dogs? Now when we go to me dads the first thing she does is find a cat toy to play with.  When we go to the pet store and go through the cat toy section she get all excited and stares down a toy she finds and wants and then keeps looking up at us. She has never done this when we go to the dog toy section she just trots around beside us sniffing the ground waiting for another dog to come by. Well except the one the at Pet Planet. Is anyone elses corgi like this? Is it okay for dogs to play with cat toys with catnip in it. I am tempted to see if Stoli likes dog toys better. If so me and my dad could trade the toys lol.

We've had a similar experience with our newly adopted corgi. He's almost 6 years old and has little to no interest in dog toys. Yet, he has taken quite a liking to our cat's little fur covered mice. In fact, he was playing with one a few weeks ago and I put it away. The dog was no where around when I put it in a basket where we keep the cat's toys. Yet, the next morning, I came out to see that he had found the mouse toy in the basket, dug it out and "killed" it. He left it for me on the couch. The cat is less than amused.

He hasn't shown interest in catnip toys yet, but maybe we will see. I can't imagine it would be a problem for a corgi to have catnip. It will probably just have the same reaction as with a cat.
Thats funny par,t my corgi reacts to it but i never seen a dog react to it before, yet my dads bengal cat does not get affected by cat nip of and kind or form. I know by my corgi cat mice, she loves to carry them around the house by the tale, then when no one is looking she takes the tail and ears off.. a couple days later she will distroy the rest. My dad calls her a mouser in training. Just hopefully she will be a good mouser if we ever get a mouse in the house lol.
I assume catnip is just fine for dogs. It's in the mint family, and people can make tea out of it---it settles the stomach among other things. Ragnar loves it. Every time we put a pile out for the cats, he gobbles up some himself. He actually chews it up. He loves cat toys as well, especially the real rabbit fur mice and a little squeaky soft rubber tweetie bird I got for the cat who fetches. He also prefers the cat's soft sponge balls to a tennis ball.
