Worms in Poo
Well we found worms in Midas' poo today. Tomorrow morning we will go to the vet and get him dewormed.
A couple questions come to mind here:
Do we need to keep Midas and Dozer separate until the treatment starts to work?
Can/should they share water?
Can humans get worms from animals?
Dozer is already on Sentinel which is supposed to protect him from worms. Should we take him in as well?

If you saw worms in the poop its most likely tape worms (were they little white worms waving at you?)
Most dewormers work pretty quickly, I wouldn't worry about separating the dogs. Humans can get tapeworms from dogs but its not likely unless you're handling your dog's poop and then putting your hands in your mouth ;)
Check places Midas sleeps or spends lots of time sitting/laying and see if there's little rice-grain looking things and wherever you see them, clean them up and vacuum. Main thing with tapes is that dogs get them typically by ingesting fleas that have the worms eggs inside of them so flea prevention is key! Orion had tapeworms when I got him even though he was already dewormed twice. Its a common thing for puppies to have them no matter so I didn't worry about it much, and when I gave him the medication they cleared up in a few days and he hasn't had issues since. I foster kittens and work as a tech's assistant at a vet clinic so I've lots of parasite experience. I, however, am not a veterinarian (yet!) and these are things I just know from my experience so I suggest you also ask your veterinarian's opinion on these questions. Oh also, if the deworming is cheap I'd get Dozer done just in case but if its not I wouldn't worry about it

I agree with Monica sounds like tape worms, I found worms in Bentley poo & looked up worms online & determined he had tapeworms, I went to the vet without him and told him he had tape worms they gave me one pill and they were all gone. If I remember correctly when I read about tapeworms it said the general worming doesnt always kill all worms and so they pill the gave Bentley was just for tapeworms.

Yes, I gave Orion the pill "virbantel", it works for tapes, hooks, and rounds

If one has worms, I'd deworm them all to be safe. I wouldn't worry too much. Some worms can be transmitted to humans, but as mentioned, it's through oral ingestion, so not very likely! Just use common sense and wash your hands. Some eggs (I think) can cling to fur near the backside for a period of time, so hand-washing before eating or touching your mouth is a good idea but I've never heard of an adult picking up worms from their pet dog.
