Last night we had a 4 year old out here and my dogs tried everything in their power to get the child to pet them. They sat, laid, rolled over, jumped but did not jump on,whined and where totally bummed that they didn't get petted. We go to pet Expo and they want to visit with the children not other dogs! They are used to both but  prefer children! Just wondering what your dog prefers.

With Frosty, it is totally dogs. He will completely ignore children for the most part (unless they have food or his favorite toy), but if there is another dog in the area, it as if humans cease to exist in his world (even me sometimes, which is really annoying lol). He was such a cry baby when we started obedience classes because he just wanted to go up and play with all the other dogs. All our neighbors have dogs that run loose (Frosty has to stay in the fenced yard) and he spends most of his time outside running from side to side to side around our yard, trying to play with the dogs running loose across the street. I wish we could get another dog so he would have somebody to play with; it is so pathetic watching him try to play with the cats every night (they are NOT interested lol).
Kids, most definitely. We took Izi to a big pet event and were excited because we thought it would be neat for her to see other animals and especially other Corgis. I think we were more excited about the dogs than she was. She ignored every other animal there, but if she a kid...BAM I was getting dragged right up to them. She just absolutely adores kids.
