I'm leaving tomorrow morning, to pick up Archie, my very first Corgi!! I'm soooo excited, I hope I can get some sleep. It's a 6 hour drive, and I'm not much of a road traveler. I'd fly 1/2 hr if it was logical, but I know it will be worth it once I get there. I was gonna wait a couple of more weeks, being it's 4th weekend, but the breeder doesn't have any plans tomorrow, so here I go. I figured going tomorrow I'd miss holiday traffic, and be able to have my little guy for the long holiday weekend!! Wish me luck, let you all know how it goes when I get back!!

Welcome to Corgi World. He will bring you such joy and delight. Corgis are not perfect little angels, but that is part of their charm.

Note that Archie will be experiencing leaving home, the long drive, a strange place, and then...fireworks!

Good Luck! How exciting! I had a 40 minute drive when I picked up Fox from the breeder in Paso Robles. I brought toys and towels for the ride home. He was only 10 pounds and nestled up next to me on the console the whole trip home. Take lots of pictures!

Congrats! Enjoy your new kid! Make sure to bring something for him to stay in on the way home. If you don't have kennel you might want to invest in something to clean the accidents after the long ride. Ella had an accident on my ex-girlfriend who insisted on holding her for the drive home and then again on the seat 15 minutes later. :P That was only an 2 hour drive.
