Does anyone else have a corgi that just naturally loves to player soccer?

Buddha is an awesome defender/defender and it's so funny to watch his little legs carry him as fast as he can go! lol I feel like I am playing soccer with another person and I think he has made me a much better soccer player bc I had never played before and now I play all the time. We bought him the perfect corgi size (youth) soccer ball and he can carry the ball! I just kick it down the field and we both race after it and he sometimes grips it or push it and i just kick it back and forth and keep us both running. It's great exercise for both of us! He is so muscular and playful, makes his mother proud :) although sometimes I accidently kick the ball and it hits him......I am hoping he learns to not stand directly in front of the ball!

Laika is afraid of the ball (she's only about 8.5 pounds right now though and its an adult sized ball) but Orion and his cousin (my brother's Australian shepherd) love to play soccer! Orion makes hilarious growly noises while chasing the ball too, but usually stops playing to chase after my feet after a while
My dog plays soccer!! He runs with the ball (normal soccer ball) 'held' between his front legs, he can adjust direction to avoid the flower beds (or you), and when you have the ball, you can NOT fake him out. It's amazing! New balls are a little tough to pick up, but that's not his schtick anyway - he rarely picks up the ball, he prefers running it. I started getting used balls at the local 'Play It Again' sports shop, because they really don't have a long life around here.
Yeah, you can't fake out corgis! Buddha usually just races to the ball, mouth grips it and then stands by it so I can catch up and kick it again. We try to deflate the ball a little bit to give it some give. Our ball looks like it has been through some rough times...

We didn't even know he loved Soccer so much until a guy at the dog park started playing it with him with an old soccer ball found in the bushes.
One of mine loves soccer, and especially likes playing "goalie" with a five-inch ball in the hallway at home. Outside, he'll push a full-size ball around with his nose at full speed.
Alwyn loves to play soccer as well. He scores quite a few goals too, I'm thinking of signing him up for the next World Cup. Here are a shots of him in action:

A volleyball is preferred, smooth tooth-resistant skin, lively and less massive -- Al is always taking it on his nose after a high kick -- I worry that soccer balls are heavy enough to damage teeth or neck. Soccer balls have that padding that invites teeth, and they're heavier.
2nd favorite ball is the Nike children's basketball, 7-8" dia, toothproof basketball skin; these balls last.
I get them for $1 apiece at rummage & yard sales.
Keep them pumped-up.
Don't kick the ball directly into the dog, that's a personal foul.
Dejection in the locker room: another tough loss for Pembrokeshire United:

Mocha Loves the volleyball, the weight and surface is perfect :)

I think we have enough players on this site to start a team!
My dogs love to play soccer. Its an every day thing here. You can't even play basketball or baseball with these guys around or they just have to join in. When my son gets all big headed I tell him to go play against the dogs..when he can out maneuver them..then he's a pro. He has not succeeded as of yet and 9 times out of 10, one of them downs his butt. haha

My dogs start playing at a very young age.

Then there are some who just do not like to let go no matter what...I think they forget they are Corgis and not Pitbulls.

And those wonderful moments when more then one dog has the ball and each one is just as persistent as the next like a stare down..first one who blinks is out, in this case, first one who lets mom have it is out. LOL

Just yesterday my husband came home with 2 new balls for the dogs...he gave the one to Sian who even though is very pregnant and about to pop at any moment had popped that ball with in 2 min. and she was so proud of herself doing the death rattle to it. LOL
Gryffin our tan and white just loves to play soccer! He's really good at push the ball down the field with his nose. I was going to draft him into local league but they wouldn't go for it!
Although it's not soccer, I have to tell about a game my sweet Chloe invented. She was a mad fetcher, would go all day. If I got tired of throwing the ball to her, she would go find a leather sandal in my closet and put the end of it in her mouth. She would bat a tennis ball around the house with the sandal. We called it corgi ping pong. It was the cutest, smartest thing and I'm so sad I never took a video of her doing it. It's one of my favorite memories of her.
Milly loves to play soccer! She can have hours of fun chasing it although after awhile she tries to peel the leather off. My husband was at a garage sale yesterday and bought five balls for $1, stopped at the gas station to pump them up and gave her two! She has no idea which one she loves more, well actually, it's usually the one we want to use, lol. Now we have three in the reserve!
Our late girl was a soccer lover. Socks would take the four of us on, and none of us could score on her! She learned how to gauge which way we would kick the ball and run in front of us, and since no one wanted to kick her, she'd maneuver the ball away! Our current corgi Cooper shows no interest in soccer, or any kind of balls for that matter.
