We live in S. CA and have used advantage monthly on our Corgis. It's worked great until now. Two weeks into the last application of Advantage, both Corgis have fleas. Any suggestions? We also added Brewer's yeast as a supplement, to help keep fleas away, which I'm going to skip now.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a flea issue! Unfortunately I don't have much advice to give but if I remember correctly I believe Sam recommended Capstar as a quick way to get rid of fleas. I found it at 1800 PetMeds, here's the link - http://www.1800petmeds.com/Capstar-prod10325.html . I hope that helps!
Thank you so much! I will call my vet. I think he has this product. If not, I'll go to your link.
PS Lucy and Rafa thank you, too!
You are very welcome! Let me know how it works. ^,,^
Fleas r terrible here. I recomend u wash them with adams flea shampoo. Its the best stuff I have ever used and it lasts a few days after bathing. It is $10 but its worth it. They do sell capstar at petco too but not sure how much it is. Just to be safe I would spray raid for fleas all through the house on everything and then vacume everything. Even under the couch. I had a bad flea problem this spring lol
@ rebecca. thanks. we vacuumed and sprayed the whole area. i just hate using all these products. but, i can't stand having my dogs bothered with fleas. i do remember using capstar, which apparently sam and jessie & alwyn recommended. isn't this a great site. no problem too big or small to get immediate responses from caring owners. i love it. i appreciate all of you!
your very welcome:) i love this site so much, everyone is so willing to help and answer questions. i know what u mean about using the products, they make me uneasy but u gotta do what ya gotta do for the fur kids right? lol
Look into confortis. I love it. I live in Florida & fleas can be very nasty at times here. I have Bentley(corgi) & Cash(beagle mix) on it. I only have to give it to them about once every month & half - 2 months. There are side effects but my dogs have never had any. It is a pill which i feel is better than any topical that get be washed off by baths or playing in the water. It does need to be given on a full stomach. Confortis is similiar to capstar other than confortis last longer than capstar. I had a bad infestation a while back on my beagle mix & the fleas were all dead in about 15 minutes. You could see them on top of his coat trying to escape off of him but died before they could get off.
Comfortis, that was the other product I couldn't think of. Another noteworthy one to try. Good call Christen!
Comfortis is definitely worth it, I bought a single tablet for Drew since he had a horrible flea infestation about a a month ago. We live in Sunny SoCal and this tablet worked great for us.

I would try buying from the following site, as I have bought from this site and it's definitely a lot cheaper than 1800petmeds.

http://www.petcarechoice.com/

The reason why it's so cheap on this site is because you get it directly from Australia or the UK (basically out of the states) rather than the states where they up the retail price by so much.

I bought both Comfortis and Sentinel from the following site and will start giving Drew both the following month.
i also recently put Ollie on comfortis on the recommendation of my vet -- she suggested doubling up with the pill and topical revolution b/c it covers so many things... so currently, i'm doing the comfortis pill, heartguard pill, and frontline plus topical until i run out then will switch to revolution and comfortis.

sounds like so much for my little guy but he's so much happier now, flea free!
