Okay, I saw this and thought of Amy Freed. She is the nice lady who lost her beloved MacGuire recently. She lives in Michigan (rural, I think) and wanted another adult dog. Why not two? I have tried to friend her so I could show her this. Maybe someone can lead her to this post. Just a thought.

Thanks Cindy!! I really appreciate you thinking of me. You know, I would have no issues taking two, but I want to go with a Pembroke and males. I always had female dogs until MaGuire and I just "knew" he was right for me. It was a gut feeling and so accurate:)
There are two girl Pembroke Corgis about 2 hours south of me at a humane society (ages 3 & 4) that I keep looking at. I'm afraid they might not be a no kill society as the web page isn't clear. They are on petfinder also. I guess what I'm saying is, if I reconsidered, they would be my first choice.
For now, I'm going to work on healing. This sounds nuts, but I haven't been able to sweep the fur off the couch and a pillow - yet!! I think I'll know for sure when the right dog for me is available. Please keep me in mind and, again, thank you. I'm amazed that people I don't even know want to help me find a new companion - Wow!!!

That doesn't sound insane at all. When my first rabbit (Owen) past away I would break down when ever I found an extra special "bunny raisin" while cleaning my vacuum or behind my couch (although he was litter box trained he was incontient the last couple months of life). It's funny how finding a poop made me smile. :P
Take your time and heal. When you finally are able to give your heart to a new dog it will make it that much sweeter.
I have now owned my second bunny (liam) for 7 years. I am glad I waited until it felt perfect again. He has not been as easy of a bunny to care for as Owen was, so everyday I thank Owen for teaching me how to love imperfection. <3

Oh Amy, I understand completely. You just never know when serendipity might come in and solve everyone's problems. I hope you can keep your chin up and continue be open to life's little opportunities. Keep an eye on the two girls. You might even want to post them on mycorgi if they haven't been already. Watch those 2 poor girl corgi's in the humane society. I just adopted a male corgi from one and they where not clear on whether they were a no kill so I called them to find out and they were a kill shelter and I just could not bear the thought of any corgi in a shelter,--- if a humane society is not clear or do not advertise themselves as a "no kill" shelter you can be certain that they do put down the dogs.
