OK - I haven't posted anything on here for a very long time but I'd really appreciate any input you have. The shedding is driving my husband crazy. I think I'm becoming immune to it but I am terribly embarrassed if someone drops by unexpectedly. I'm just wondering if it would help if I would start taking Sadie and Leo once a month to a groomer for a bath and a professional blow-dry. Any thoughts? Yes, I have the furminator and it's great. I also use the Kong zoom groom when I bath them myself which is maybe 4-5 times per year. It's the blow-dry part I wonder about the most. Does it help? Does that help to loosen the undercoat after they're bathed and maybe on a monthly basis we could stay a little ahead of the fur game? I'd be willing to spend the money if it would help! Thanks for any suggestions or experiences you can tell me about. Shelby

Linatone - costs about $20 bottle, my 34lb fur-factory gets 2 teas a day, it's made a HUGE difference. I have hardwood floors (nicely accentuates floating hair-clouds!) and it takes a full week after vacuuming before they start floating around again (instead of about 2 days, before the Linatone).
I think I'm the only person on the planet that wasn't impressed with the Furminator? I get a lot more bang for the buck from a rubber curry and a steel comb. I've had Huskies and that's what worked for me on them, too. The comb will get below the undercoat - until it's been thoroughly combed through once, it can be a job. Once it's combed through, though - if you keep some hair build-up on the comb while you're combing, it really does the job. I bath about once a month or so, and a good hair conditioner (I use human products) will let you gently comb out while wet. Once dry - boy, if you can do it outside, more power to you!
