Well I made Tuckers first vet appointment with our regular vet and not the one from the shelter we had to visit after we adopted Tucker.  He did great with that vet visit so I am hoping that he will do just as good at our regular vets.  I suspect an ear infection, as they seemed pretty dirty the other day and he has been pawing at his face and have seen him shaking his head.

Tucker doesnt seem to be acting like himself with Lance, he seems jumpy during play if you can call it play.  I am going with my gut feelings.  Lance is even starting to seem a bit leary of Tucker.  Tucker is jumping at him and when he runs around, seems to be going at Lance.  I have had to stop them a few times when they were growling, showing teeth and just not playing nice.  :(

At the vet appointment I will also mention to the vet about his nails, I posted about on a different thread.  I can not get Tucker into the vet until Wed at 5:30  :(  Im thinking I should just keep them seperated until then, so that a fight doesnt occur because Tuckers not feeling well.

Edit:  What I mean by jumpy is actually Tucker jumping at Lance rambuctiously and then turns into a chase that Lance doesnt seem to enjoy.   It definately doesnt seem like play.

Tucker has a slight ear infection in both ears, and we have an ointment to put in his ears once a day for 10 days.  Hubby took Tucker to the vet while I took my daughter to the dr.  Fun times!!
hopefully he'll start feeling better really soon!
Thanks everyone!!  So Im wondering if keeping them seperated while Tucker gets better is going to be a bad thing.  It just seems that everytime we let them play that it gets too rough to the point of growling, teeth baring and yelps :(  I just dont want them ending up hating each other.  Any suggestions of what we could do while Tuckers healing?
How about walks and hanging out with the family together just no "playing"????

Yes definately will walk.  Do you think if I walk them one at a time in the daytime, that would cause hard feelings?  After school and work I can get hubby or the kids to help but during the day, its just me. I have to call the vet back and see how long he thinks it is going to take his ears to feel better.

I feel bad taking one at a time as the other one is usually barking when I got out the door with the other one.

It's fine to walk them one at a time until "help" arrives! I would maybe walk Tucker 1st and then he can rest while Lance tires himself out. Even though the infection may be gone I am assuming that Tuckers ears could be :touchy" for awhile. Good luck, I know it's not fun to have a dog not feeling 100%!
thanks Jane!  hmm, the ears being touchy could be a problem since Lance likes to chew on his ears when playing. :(  The other day Tucker went right for Lances ears, Im wondering if it was in retaliation, lol.  Unless he is learning the behavior from Lance?
