Activities to prevent boredome?
I need some suggestions on games, learning, just FUN stuff to do with my puppy. Billy is 3 months old and due to his low immune system can not yet get his vaccines. I feel bad for the little guy, we can't (attempt) to go on walks or go to the park etc. and I feel like he is bored at times. I play catch with him and sit on the gound with him often but I was curious if anybody had any ideas that might spice up my poor lil bubble boy's day?

I would look for toys that will make him think. Kong has many options. A little frozen peanut butter or yogurt keeps Becca entertained. If you can stand the noise, the Kong squeaky tennis balls entertain Becca for up to half an hour with a new one. I bought a 'Hide a Squirrel' on Amazon (cheapest) and use it only on rainy days. She can get the squirrels out fairly quickly now, but I just shove them back in occasionally. Other toys fit in it as well, the more I shove in the longer it takes to empty.
Becca still thinks the touch game is fun. It was one of the first things I taught her. Sit on the floor with Billy and hold out your hand. When he touches it, say yes or click, then reward with a tiny piece of treat. Eventually you can move your hand and get more than one touch per treat. Touch can be used later in training, it helped Becca learn to leg weave. I use it to center her when she is anxious or over stimulated now.

He has a kong and MANY other toys and pig ears and such...but sometimes it just seems he wants more. We have been working on commands. He knows how to go get his toy (when I throw it) and bring it to me, drop it and sit. I Started teaching him the leave it command today by putting a treat in my hand and asking him to leave it and when he finally leaves it alone I give him a treat from the other hand. I just feel like that might seem like all work and no play with me constantly teaching him things?
Billy seems to be 100% now, he has a lingering cough in the morning but he is eating great now, and all SEEMS to be well. He has a check up on Saturday so hopefully that brings nothing but good news!

If he likes sqeeky toys we have a couple fake lambswool toys that have sqeekers and Wynn's fave is his stuffed hedgehog!

The "touch game" helps with recall as well! I flip my hand out when I want Effie to come quickly, and she runs to tag it!

They love to learn! If you have time to teach him things, he has time to eat the treats and praise you give him. Snickers and I exercise in the house by me running around and tossing kibble. She loves looking for it, and will keep looking long after I am done. Then hide kibble in the room, an inch under the sofa, next to the counter, etc when he isn't looking. You could also make a tunnel out of a card board box and teach him to walk through it, teach him to crawl under something like the bed, encourage him to explore, while you supervise, of course. You don't want his world to be just you entertaining him. Corgis need to be busy all their lives, so you are getting good practice now for the rest of his long healthy life.

I love hiding from my boys and then call them once. I just say "where's Mommy" and they run from room to room looking. What I think is interesting rarely do they look together. Usually they go their different ways and get so excited when they find me. The longest look time, I was hiding in the laundry room, sitting up on the dryer, with the light off.

Indy wouldn't leave my clothes alone when doing laundry, which is when I figured out that he loves to chew on cloth. I used an old dishtowel to make a toy for him. I put a few pieces of kibble in the middle ''pouch'' when I tied it into a knot. He worked at it for an hour before he got the kibble out. He usually has a very short attention span, so this was great for us! (And cheap)

Sometimes the odd things are the most entertaining. Becca will play with raw carrots before eating them. I picked some huge blueberries yesterday and gave her one. She pushed it around with her nose for several minutes before eating it. She also LOVES cardboard rolls from wrapping paper or paper towels. I had to stop giving those, she moved on to all paper products.

We used to hide and have Trudy find us, but then we realized if we just hid one of her toys we wouldn't have to crawl under tables. We tell her we are going to hide her toy and we show her the toy. We tell her to get on her bed and to not peek and then go around the house from room to room and put the toy somewhere that is not too hard to find. Then we go to where she is and say "Find it!". She runs like crazy and barks. Eventually she finds it and is so proud of herself when she brings it in to show us. We applaud and praise her generously. We repeat until she acts bored. Really a fun little game for her and us Pup parents. Enjoy.
