About leaving the house just to run errands? Leaving the babies at home without anyone there? I hate to leave the house. They are so glad to see me when I return that I drop everthing and start to play right away.

I have been working from home a lot lately, and now it is really hard to go off and leave them, even though I know they just sleep all day.
I used to feel guilty, Steve. That was years ago. It was the reason I got a 2nd Corgi, and have had 2 Corgis ever since. They have each other for company. They also have me, since I'm no longer working and mostly home with them. Jack takes Ricky-Rafa with him for all errands, if they're short. He loves to be in the car. Most of the places Jack goes allow R-R inside.
Lucy hates the car and runs and hides as soon as she picks up on Jack's routines that signal he's leaving in the car. R-R actually jumps into our friends cars when they're leaving our house.
PS Do you have any 2-legged kids?
I have none
I have none living at home, just my 4 legged ones. Even my cat flew the coop last week and went back to NY with my middle dgt.
I put a little spray cheese in their Kongs when I am leaving the house. They love it so much that it is like a party every time I put on my coat, the corgis watch me with excitement while licking their chops and the doberman races into her kennel. Come to think about I feel kind of bad they are so thrilled to see me leave!
I take Franklin wherever I can but I do have to leave him alone frequently with school. I do feel bad when I leave and can't wait to get my new corgi (whenever that may occur!) to keep Franklin company. Franklin could pretty much care less when I leave because he has been trained to know he gets a yummy treat in a treat toy when I leave, but he is very excited when I get home. I don't think he is too concerned when I am gone but I miss him! Lol, even if it's only a few hours.
Although I take at least one to work once or twice a week I still feel guilty(or they make me feel guilty). The other day Sage was in the hall by the garage ears at half mast like she was asking to go with and I didn't take her...I felt guilty all eve.
Some years back with my first two Corgis I became curious about their activities while I was at work all day. I set up the web cam to capture still shots when it sensed motion. Turns out they really do most sleep all day except for one brief period when Watson got up on my bed and dragged my pillow onto the floor for his nap. At least I found out which one of them had been doing that.
These days Gromit doesn't like it when I leave and barks his protest but there's not much I can do, I can't take him many places that I go.
Yes...Gromit and Doug, I have a webcam and able to watch Dino and they do mostly sleep and interact with each other during the day. Please dont tell Dino or the rest of them please/ BTW Doug and Gromit where have you two been I have not heard from you in a while¿
Steve, Gromit and I have been around but kind of laying low. I'm hoping 2012 will be a busier year for us. I'm working on a plan to get Gromit a buddy his own size. :-)
Very. Since the day we picked up Ashton we have only spent one night away from him. We left on a Saturday morning and came back Sunday afternoon. We had a friend stay the night at the house with him and I had my family stop in to visit too. He is now 3. He comes with us on all our vacations. On days I go to work I make sure part of the time I am gone is when my hubby has his lunch break so it limits the amount of time away. I just feel so guilty being away. :P
