I know it sounds ridiculous but my girl copper was sooo sketchy as a puppy. We got her when she was 7 weeks old and she was still with her litter and had a great life. But she acted like she was beat every second of her life. If i would move too fast to give her a treat, she'd pee. If i pet her to suddenly, she'd pee. Laugh to loudly, pee. And mind you we had never even disciplined her yet so it wasnt from us.....so basically thats how it was for the longest time.Her mood swings were awful! She would be so loving and cuddly one second and all of a sudden shrink into herself and hide away. We couldnt even punish/discipline her for anything because she would pee and go hide if we even attempted it. One time i told her 'no' loudy and didnt see her for the rest of the day. It was so bad that our vet didnt want to fix her because her mood swings were already so bad he wasnt sure how it would affect her, and having an infant in the house it concerned him. so we basically let her run the house and gave up all hope for change. And then she went into her first heat. Its the strangest thing but as soon as she finished, she was an intirely different dog! She still gets sketchy here and there (more jumpy than anything). But no more mood swings, no more hiding away or peeing. I mean she is the greatest dog ever now.
She just turned two in june, and my daughter turned two yesterday. They have grown up together. Copper lets claire lay on her and watch tv, pull on her..they wrestle...its great watching them. Well anywyas i guess i was just wondering if anyone else had a dog with bi polar issues? LMAO
