Any tips to get an eight month old Corgi to stop barking at EVERYTHING and Growling when we are out walking???  Ralphy is starting to misbehave!!  trying to act like he is the boss and even starting snapping at us when we both tried to put his harness on tonight.

Sidney acted that way at 6 months, but very briefly. We took him to puppy obedience class where we learned a sharp negative sound (we use "ackkkk!") and a squirt from a squirt bottle aimed at his head did the trick right away. Now if he wants to bark at something he shouldn't, all I have to do is show him the squirt bottle and he stops.
A harness will encourage pulling and Obedience classes are a Huge help with a head strong corgi. He is testing the waters right now and needs to learn how to be a good citizen now. It is much tougher when he gets older to change things. Classes will really help you do it in a positive but effective way.

You should definitely look at getting him into obedience class.  Not only will it help you to train him in a controlled environment, but it will help to socialize him.  As previously stated, he's testing you.  It's like a toddler going through the "No" phase, he's trying to see what he has control over and what he can get away with.

Most important, be consistent when you start that training!  Even after the class is done you need to keep up with refresher training on your own.

Good luck!  :)

Our 2 are 9 months and we start obediance class tonight!  We have all kinds of "behaviors" to work on, barking/jumping/nipping/shyness... Pretty sure my husband and I are the ones that need the "training" lol
I remember those days! Gracie was a little stinker on a leash, trying to run after cars, barking her head off. We went to school and we learned a few things, but the walks were still a wild time. I tried the squirt bottle and she'd glare at me defiantly like, "bring it on!". I tried a can of pennies to get her attention. Nope. What finally worked was a horn. A metal thing with a rubber squeeze ball at the end. You know, like circus clowns have and believe me I was starting to feel that way with my silly dog leaping in the air barking after cars. Anyway, one or two honks and she'd stop dead in her tracks. And now, nearly 4 years later if we're walking and she races ahead or something I just say I'm going to get the horn and she stops. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm odd, but whatever works.
