How much food should I give my 24.5 pound corgi?  I've never really had a set schedule except for these past few months, just want to know what other owners do.

It really depends on what KIND of food you are feeding.  We feed Frosty Pedigree, which is pretty cheap and full of fillers, so he gets 2-3 cups a day depending on how many table scraps he gets, but Frosty is also a HUGE cardigan who weighs about 37 lbs.  I know people feeding on higher quality food such as Wellness feed as little as 2/3 cup per day.  With Frosty we just fed him the amount the breeder was feeding him, then adjusted it up or down over the weeks as he gained or lost weight.  We found his ideal amount after 2-3 months of adjustments.  Here are a couple discussions about food that might help.  Good luck!!

It all depends on what kind of food and how big your dog is, I think.  How much have you been feeding him?  Is his weight good?  Does he have a nice indent behind his ribs?  Can you feel his ribs but not so they feel bony?  I say if his weight is good keep feeding what you have been.  Good dog food takes less to feed them (and they poop less)  I have been feeding Quin Blue Buffalo which is a medium to good dog food and I feed her 1 cup a day 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night, and minimal treats.  But she is a female and weights right at 20 lbs

we give our dogs science diet.  Jacques is 24.5 pounds and he is fit and looks great, and gets a lot of activity.

Thanks for the responses guys :)

Sidney is 27 pounds and we feed him Rotations  (a premium food with no fillers). He gets fed once a day, 1/2 cup kibble with a little scoop of canned to make it interesting.
You know, it depends on the dog.  Jackson gets 1/2 cup twice daily of Taste of the Wild and keeps his svelte 20# with no problem (even though he's a couch potato), and Seanna gets 1/4 cup twice daily of the same-- and we're working on her girly figure goal of 21# (currently 24#) and she's a maniac.  The vet keeps telling me we can't take 2 pounds off for fur like I keep asking....she's got the thickest coat I've ever seen on a corgi, and I think it should count like clothes do for humans!!
My 27 lb. pem gets a little more than a half cup twice a day of Fromms. I was giving him a full 3/4 cup twice a day, but he started looking a little chunky so I cut it back a little and he looks good now. As others said it really depends on the dog. I may need to go back up to the 3/4 cup in the summer since we're more active but we don't get out as much during the cold winter.
The Clan eats Natural Choice Herring Meal.  Maddie weighs 17 lbs and gets about a cup to cup 1/4.  That's pretty standard for the ones that weigh between 17-24 lbs.  Tank is bigger cuz he's a cardi-x (about 35 lbs) and gets 2 cups.  All are within a lb of their optimum weight.  We're very careful to keep them like that.  I laugh when we're at the vet's office.  They're not used to corgis who weigh what they're supposed to weigh.

Ella is a 22lb female and gets 1 cup of Taste of the Wild a day (1/2 cup in morning, 1/2 cup for dinner). Corgis are such piggies when it comes to food, it really is best to split up the food into a few meals.  Two meals works best for us, but I've heard some people even split it into 3 meals.

Easiest way is to decide on a game plan, X amount of food at Y time and Z time.  Then monitor your corgi over a few weeks and see if the weight is going up/going down. Then adjust as needed.

Good luck.

Mine all get a handful 3 times a day so roughly a cup or slightly more. They get Taste of the Wild. When I had less dogs I just would leave Wynn's food out and he never overate.

I feed Iam's Lamb and Rice, about 360 cal/cup.

One gets half a cup twice a day (one cup total).  He's a big, big male Pem (13.5 inch at the shoulder, over the standard) and his ideal weight is about 35 pounds.  He was down to 33 and looked ribby to me.

The other was getting the same but she "blossomed" from 28 pounds up to 30 so now she's getting 1/3 cup twice a day (2/3 cup total).

I keep three measuring scoops in the tin:  1/4 c, 1/3 c, and 1/2 c.   If they get extra treats or add-ins in the food, they each get bumped down a size for the evening meal, so Jack would get 1/3 c in PM and Maddie 1/4 c in PM.   And I make sure the cups are level; a slightly heaped 1/4 c is actually a full 1/3 cup.

Ginny gets 1/2 cup, twice a day.  So one cup a day.  But we feed high quality food (Nature's Variety, but we used to do Blue Buffalo).  If you're feeding very high quality, then the quantity you feed goes down.  In the summer, she gets more of a rounded scoop.  She is very trim and muscular, but with less activity in the winter, we scale back a little.  She also gets a few treats throughout the day, but I keep them very small.  Costco sells bags of duck breast jerky, and she gets one piece in the morning when she goes in the crate and a few other small little cookies (Grandma Lucy's) as rewards.  So, keep in mind too that if you give out lots of treats, you have to adjust how much you feed as well.
