I am considering rehoming one of my dogs....would she be better off?????

I have an almost 4 year old corgi that I've had since a pup and I am wondering if she would be happier in a home with only one other dog and with someone that is home alot...she has separation anxiety but does not chew or wreck things...she is just so "needy" when we get home...she is a loving well trained dog but when I look at her I feel like she misses out on what she needs...we promised to always keep her because we took on the responsability but is this fair to her??? I guess I'm just looking for some thoughts for what would be best for her as I feel bad either way...

Sometimes you do have to do what is best for the dog. If you find a home you think she would be happier in then I would do it. If not, try to make some adjustments to make her happier. I had to talk my son into letting me re home his cats last winter. He was pretty upset about it but after he sold his house and moved back in with us it was clear that his two were not going to get along with mine. I found them a home with someone I know and they are much much loved in their new home. My son was really bonded with them but it was clear that the cats would be better off where they were able to rule the roost and his unselfishness has allowed them to have a great family! Good luck with your decision .
I really feel for you, we have just had to make the same decision for Reggie. Archie was always fighting with him, and it got to the point we could not take our eyes off them. Reggie also became very clingy which just made Archie go for him more. They never fought over toys or food it seemed that whenever my son was around they would fight, purely for affection. We tried putting one in the crate and making time for each of them, but as soon as we let the dog out again, the fights would start,
We put some ads out and had a lot of response, I vetted each of the callers and both Reggie and I fell in love with the lady that took him, she had corgi's before and was a "doggy" person, she brought lots of phot's of her previous dog and Reggie was totally smitted with her. He has been there for some weeks now and we keep in touch with emails and calls. He has a new name, is the solo dog in the home, and is spoilt silly. As much as it hurt us, we had to do whats best for him. If you are thinking about rehoming her I would say look around and see what happens, if she is meant to be rehomed, then the right family will come forward for her and you will know when you find them. Good luck x
