My wife and I are looking for a new home for our 5 year old corgi. She is currently up to date with all vaccines and in good health. We have a young child and another on the way, and I am started a second job soon and all my time will be monopolized so we really don't have the time to spend with her. Its not fair for her and we believe she should be in a home that can give her attention. We don't want her to feel lonely being home by herself all day.
She does okay with other dogs. It usually takes some time for her to get used to others but she has lived with other dogs in the past without problems. She is fine with cats and loves people.
If anyone knows someone near Huntington Beach, CA that would be interested please let me know.
I will be uploading a picture to my profile when I'm back at home tomorrow.
Thank you!

Good luck, I hope you find a really good home for her.
Good luck..ask questions and check references for vets and other people. See if they will keep you updated and send pics...don't necessarily take the 1st person...look for the best home possible:)
*SIGH*
Always so far away! I've been looking for a friend. GOOD LUCK!
I hope you find the best new family for her. I agree with Jane...it may take a little longer to find the right home but it will be so worth it. Good luck.
Thank you everyone for the support. We don't really just want to give her to anybody. She needs a good home where she will get all the well deserved attention and make others happy.
Also...take a couple days and if it "doesn't feel right" follow that feeling. Bella could have gone to 2 other homes but I didn't feel "good" about it ...I am so glad I didn't hurry as she has the perfect home now...best I could ever ask for.
Have you checked the corgi groups on MyCorgi for anyone who might be interested? Maybe check with a corgi rescue if they have any people on a waiting list????
You will be able to find her a great home here in California. Lots of people looking for rescues here. You may even consider contacting B.A.R.K in Simi Valley or St. Anthony's Canine Rescue who also does a lot of corgi rescue. I believe both are in home foster only so you wouldn't worry about her having to go into a kennel situation. They can do the screening for a perfect home for you.
Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Southern CA has a rescue group that is very active. I used to foster for them when I lived in San Diego. I would encourage you to fill out the questionnaire link from their website. They will likely have a wait list of folks they have already vetted for corgi adoption. Good Luck!!
Thank you all for the great information and encouragement! I will be sure to look through these recommended places!
wow... didn't realize that there would be so much support out there and possible GOOD solutions. GREAT news. Best of luck for your darling baby.
