Need Advice on Marking Territory
When I let my two corgis out to do their business, my female sniffs around and finds a good spot to go, just like most dogs. Before she is even finished, my male tries to mark where she has gone and pees all over her back end. This has been happening every day. Is there a way to deter him from doing this? The only thing I can think of is to let the female out by herself first, and then let out the male once she has a chance to go. Any other ideas?

I would try leashing them both, or at least the male, so you can give him a gentle correction and maybe get him to understand that peeing on others is not good! Letting them out separately will avoid the problem but not really correct it, if you know what I mean.

Is your female going into heat? If your male is not fixed, the marking will escalate in the next 2 weeks. If they are both fixed already, then leashing is your only option.

The female is fixed, the male is not. I will try leashing him and see how that works.

I have three that line up to pee where the other did so we have had a few accidents too. Usually it is Izzy sticking her nose in where Sparty is going. (If there is yellow on the nose you DO NOT want to kiss it!) I would try letting your girl out first and then let him out. When they are leashed you can watch and prevent it.

Haha, that's my Madison too! She sticks her nose right under Jack when he's peeing, and then goes herself. I love her to death, but she almost never decides to do anything on her own. "Oh, Jack's peeing now! It's time to pee. Oh, Jack's playing now, it's time to play! Oh, Jack's chewing a bone now, it's time to chew!" LOL

WE are noticing that with our new addition as well. He will pee on his own but if he sees Mickey pee he MUST go again, right then! :)

I just wanted to say that I've had the same issue! It's not serious for us because Hooch usually either misses Honey or dribbles just a drop or two, but...what an oddball behavior.

I was going to try leashing him (Jet) before letting the dogs out and my husband went to put his collar on and Jet peed right where he was in the kitchen. He is scared of men (or sudden movements), which may explain why this happened. So we'll try again later. haha And I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue!

We have the same problem. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen. We started going out with them and protect Molly when she peed. Max finally got the idea that It was a bad idea. We would treat her and not him. and he got in trouble when it happened. Took about a week..
