I need some help. Joey my 10 mo. old corgi is just like most puppies, but we are having some issues with barking and needing to be played with in an extreme way. Does anyone have any ideas or games that will tire him out.

What do you mean by an extreme way? Do long walks help? I have a chuck it ball launcher my 15 month old loves but you would have to be careful not to overdo it! As for barking at someone or why is he barking...I have some that bark alot and have started shaking a pop can with about 15 pennies in taped shut...this seems to work and I also say "no bark" when I am doing this.Do you also have some toys he can play with by himself? Like a fun ball...I have a ball in another ball (I'll have to check the name but Livvy does love playing with this! What about a kong with peanut butter in for him to stay busy when it doesn't work for you to play with him. He might also be trying to be the leader????
I am in favor of long walks and obedience training. 10 months is often a bossy stage and it is important to deal with him in a firm positive way. I took Sparty to classes at 6 months and continued off and on for a couple years. He was and is so strong willed. Izzy and Buffy were just the opposite so it does depend on your corgi's personality how much help you need. At least one session of classes can make a really big difference for you.
Madoc is turning nine months this week, and we have some teenager behaviors! I take him to doggie day care once a week, and he comes home tired and happy. Lots of socializing and exercise. He also takes a beginning agility class, and we BOTH come home panting and tired out. Other than that, two 30 minute walks a day and some play. Madoc isn't much of a barker unless there's a knock at the door or the bell rings (in actuality or on TV). Guess he wants to make sure we are aware. But I think the play that involves other dogs or the agility class really demands his energy and attention and tires him out.
Soccer ball. Now, I have a water polo ball, even better (right size, but lighter).
