Reddish-brown urine???
So I noticed this yesterday (and it has only been since yesterday as the day before I saw normal yellow pee), that the two times I actually saw Mattie pee - in the snow - it was a reddish-brown color. Is that normal? I believe she may be close to being in heat - she was bleeding in Mid-Oct and I know they are usually starting the heat cycle before the blood so I'm not sure if it's related to that or possibly some health issue. Anyone else have any experience with this?

If it is a reddish brown that you can see , then that's blood in urine. Does she have frequent urination? Most common cause is UTI, followed by bladder or kidney problems.
If it is just spotting, then yes, she may be in heat again. Yes corgis can have weird schedules too, but this is a little too soon.

Yes, she is most likely going into heat! If she was spayed I would say a bad urine infection but this is normal if she's starting her cycle. You should be able to see some reddish discharge if she is standing look at her back end and it's likely could be a few drops and when she sits is she also leaving a smudge of this?
How old is she?
Was she in season in October? This would be too early for her to be in season again!

I've never had an unspayed female, but I know when my male got a UTI a few weeks ago, the urine was actually fairly bright red--enough to be scary since we didn't know and he was post-op then.

This would be VERY early to come back into heat - she's due in April (if she's a normal six-month girl), not January.
Make sure she drinks a lot of water and then watch her again. If it continues to be red, I would suspect a UTI or a bladder stone and she deserves a vet visit.

Well...she starting spotting blood - so I think she's officially in heat (which would make sense since her big lab sisters kept paying attention to her lady bits). I'm honestly not even sure if it was mid-oct or earlier than that because I stupidly threw away last years calender without writing it someplace else. But maybe she's like her mom (me) and semi-irregular. Either way, hot stuff needs to keep the boys away lol
