Sly Corgis :)

So how much does your corgi push for you to follow his or her agenda? Lately it seems as if though Ein is constantly finding new ways to get me to do what he wants and is starting not to listen to simple commands he already knows. Is it me or is this true with most corgis?

Oh My both of mine are mischievious also , I think it's their job ha ha and I think they pretend to not hear me when I am telling them to do something they don't want to do :) gotta love em :)

Potus developed the 'lie down and refuse to move' trait when he was about one and a half. This happens on walks when he decides that no, he want to go THAT way. Sometimes you can get him going again by talking to him, pulling his lead hard (though not enough to hurt him) or breaking into a run which motivates him, but sometimes no matter ho hard you try he will not move and you have to give in. Or pick him up and carry him, something I have only ever resorted to twice. Stubbon little dog.

my wife had our westie out for a walk one day and he just stopped and refused to move. She had to carry him back home ( he never lets you carry him). I think he decided he had walked far enough. !

Noodles does this and he rolls over on his back in order for me not to be able to grab the harness. Have no fear, mom is smarter than him and I reach my hand underneath him and pull him up that way. He gives me a mean look because he isn't happy with me and he sulks for a little while.

The other thing Noodles does is decide to not listen. This lasts for about a couple months and then he goes back to being the angelic boy that he is. We just finished another episode and I'm so glad to have my listener back. I called him to come inside the other night and he ran right in. It was nice not having to bribe him.

Most of mine aren't too bad but Wynn will bark till he gets what he wants and Livvy too but she only wants her ball thrown...which she hides outside where others can't find it...she's royal pain when she wants to play ball or you want her to come in the house, I have to bribe her with cheese!

I agree with Ellen, with a face like that how could you resist. My current pup Randy is the worse of the 3 I have had. But he was here alone without anyone to play with. So he would try to bully me into doing what he wanted. If I was on the phone, he would bark and/or bit at my ankle. He appeared to be a dominant/alpha male from birth. I finally have gotten another dog for him to play with. She is 2 - 3 years old and has had puppies, so she seems to have a better idea of how to handle him. And that is no help for you but I also think it is often the more intelligent ones that try to be so controlling. Maybe not.

Ein does the same thing to his grandma (my mother in law). Whenever we are over he thinks she is his. When he is in his bully mode he will have to have her attention. He ends being quite rough and vocal, only with her! He also does not let her dogs come near her. Your so right on with the bully thing. We think he thinks she is his sheep.
