I am just wondering what your vets have been charging for a spay or neuter procedure in the past few years. I live in the northeast (u.s.a) and my puppy's neuter cost ($395) is nearly as much as my other corgi's spay procedure ($410). I found this surprising as a neuter surgery is much less invasive/extensive, and was just curious what other people are finding...

We had Linus neutered last April at our vet (I live in NJ) and it was about $380 total. I specifically wanted our vet practice to do it though because I was so nervous. I'm considering using an ASPCA spay/neuter clinic to get our second corgi spayed this coming April because the cost is about half.

The cost of these procedures vary widely in the US. It all depends on where you are. My vet is very reasonable and is actually on the lower end for around where I am (suburb of Seattle) and Teddy's neuter cost around $300. That was almost five years ago. I imagine it has gone up slightly.

We live in a farming community and so our vets are large and small animal vets...it's much cheaper BUT the vet offices in the larger cities that cater to "pets" charge much more. Wynn was neutered, his teeth cleaned and 1 pulled plus blood testing for a little over $200. The SNAP clinics around here are also much cheaper.

Actually my daughter and others drive here from a couple hours away because of the lower prices!

I am in upstate NY in the country and my total was 130 for everything and I have been going to my Vet since I was 7 and I am 35 now

@ Renee, wish him long life!  :-D

A standard neuter here is around $250 I believe. I payed around $400 for my pem's neuter as he was a cryptorchid.

I also live in (what some consider) upstate NY but it's actually the Mid Hudson Valley and we paid $160 to have Katie spayed.  We've been going to the same vet for almost 34 years.  That was a few years ago so I'm sure it's more now but I know it's not any where near what some of you are paying.

Yeah we are in the Syracuse area... But those prices people are talking about would make me think twice about getting another dog.  Fergus is just a year old today actually.  So those things are fresh in my head.  =-)

LOL....that's not upstate, that's western NY.  Funny how there are so many different areas of NY and how people who live in a different area call it something else.  I'm in the backwoods of "upstate" to anyone from NYC yet when I lived in Albany, Kingston..where I am now..was downstate.

Hehehe Technically Syracuse is Central lol right smack in the middle =-) But when I went to college my roommate told me Westchester was UPSTATE lol I almost died.

Renee....I know!  And I live in Ulster which is north of Westchester, I'm 90 miles north of NYC and I'm in the boonies.  And true...you are in central NY.
