im so happy so say that Baden has made a total turn around in his training. i am truly impressed with what chicken and cheese can do for a dog. we took him out the bridge again after i made my post but i was armed with chicken and cheese mixed together this time. normally when we get out of the car he would bark/growl and everyone. this time he looked at a person and he didnt react so i gave him a treat and said good boy. there were several people so after the 10 person he realized when i said good boy he got his yummy treat.

not one bark or growl the whole walk, not even to dogs. he would look at whoever and then look at me so i rewarded him. i was impressed! after we got to the car i was so happy i let him off leash and ran down this path and i let him chase me lol he really enjoyed that! so when we went the second day we got out of the car and he sat down looked at everyone and waited for his treat, how cute is that?! i am very proud

2days ago i took him to the trail on base and there was lots of people but as long as i said good boy he could care less, he only growled 2 times but that person popped out of no where so when he did growl i didnt say anything but instead dropped to him level and grabbed a stick and played tug of war while the people passed us. when they did he sat down and waged his nub like "did i do good?" too cute.

so since i have posted my other one (not even a week ago) he has made a total difference. even today out on our morning walk, there was lots of people but he didnt care, he would just look at me, i said good boy and we carried on. i never would have thought chicken and cheese would be so powerful lolim just missing dollar in this pic

Never underestimate the power of food! It can turn a lot of situations around. :) Glad to hear Baden is doing well!

He sure is cute and probably wondering why it took you so long to figure out that he wanted chicken and cheese!

I love to read your stories about Baden (and Dollar, too)!  You are an inspiration, really.  We've worked with our rescue, Fred, to be better on walks, as he's very reactive to dogs.  He loves people and never barks or pulls when we see them, but other dogs can get him very riled up.  He's gotten *much* better over time (can control himself and not lunge or bark most of the time now) but I think we should try some yummy treats and really work on directing his attention more fully on us/the treat when we see other dogs.  Anyway, keep up the great work and please share more stories and pictures when you can!  A post from you always brightens my day.  :-)

aw im glad u like my posts :) i love updating u all on baden and dollar. i never knew treats could change a dogs mind so dramatically! as long as i say good boy when i see dogs or people on walks we walk on by without a care in the world, i just cant believe it. he still reacts to my neighbors but from what i read on line hes just protecting his yard but he dosnt get nasty about it, hes just letting me know that they are there
