I've had Madison for over a month now and I thought I'd let you guys know how she is coming along! :D
Self-consciousness: She seems to worry less about getting in trouble because she now has a much better understanding of what is expected of her. I have done my best to be consistent in what I do and do not allow her to do and I think that helped.
Barking: She barks a little more than she did when I got her but I still consider her a quiet dog. When she barks it's just a few barks and then she might not bark again for hours.
Energy: It's easier to get her to run than it used to be because it's easier to get her to play with toys than it used to be. When I get her to play with a toy it makes her want to run around with it in her mouth. I encourage this because she needs the exercise!
Fitness: Better than it used to be but her stamina and muscle tone still could use a lot of improvement. Where they're at right now is she has the stamina to walk about a mile or run around the house for 10 minutes. Her thigh muscles are starting to feel firm. Her belly is a bit chunky. I cut back on her food a bit (don't want to cut back too much because she needs energy to exercise and protein to build muscle).
Shedding: She wasn't shedding at all when I got her and now she's shedding a fair amount but twenty minutes with the Furminator got almost all of it. I'm still on guard for a fur invasion, though. She might blow her coat in spring.
Cuddling: She's much more comfortable with it now. I worked hard to make it rewarding for her to sit on or close to me. This had the side effect of making her more affectionate overall and making her become a shadow that follows me from room to room :)
Separation Anxiety: None so far, but she's getting pretty attached to me and I don't want her to get so attached that it's distressing to be away from me. Every day I make sure she spends a couple hours away from where I am. She handles it well but it's not uncommon to find her waiting on the other side of the door to the room I'm in! D'aww!
Allergies: She's on Claritin right now and I think it helps. She only sneezes a couple times a day and she hasn't reverse sneezed in days.

Sounds like she's really settling in. Cute picture...very cool dog!
Such a cutie. Sully behaved in a similar fashion and it just gets better week to week. It's great to see a dog become hapy and confident. I am curious about the "reverse sneeze." Never heard the term.
Good to hear how well she is doing! She is lucky she ended up with you. She sure seems like a sweetheart.
That's great to hear. Teddy my puppy mill rescue took many years to get over his issues and still will cower at a broom getting to close to him. It's always so great to see growth:)
