Sorry I have not been following this site much lately. I hope everyone is well. I have been dealing with some health issues that were time consuming but not life-threatening. I have been pretty…Continue

I never imagined I would be sending this update on Sully's recent condition but I am afraid the injury to her neck has not improved, in fact it is much worse and the cost of surgery is prohibitive,…Continue

Tonight, for the first time Sully has been crying out when moved. She has been a drama queen so I assumed she was carrying on for little or no reason, but she is not easily distracted as she…Continue

File this under the Best.Day.Ever! Sully and I received an Evite to attend a doggie de-stress session for students during finals week at Wheaton College. I take classes there so Sully knows the campus. The college had set up a penned in area (like a dog park) where town residents and professors could bring their dogs so the students could take a break from studying to pat, cuddle and play with the dogs for a couple of hours. There are no dog parks in this town or any other town around that I…

Just a quick funny note. Since we live in a rural area we have all kinds of fowl, turkeys, geese, ducks, heron and such in the area. I live very close to a small rural campus where I also take classes so Sully and I are on campus often. I spend a lot of time trying to teach Sully not to try to herd my daughter's ducks and chickens and the water fowl in the pond on campus. I just found out the college hired a team of border collies to convince the ducks and geese to relocate to a pond across…

I went on a long hike through the woods with Sully this weekend. She took her monthly Nexgard treatment the day before and although we removed many ticks from her fur, none were attached and she remains tick free. Apparently the treatment is corgi successful because I took nothing and had to remove a tick embedded in my scalp this morning. I think it is going to be a tough season. By the way, there are still patches of snow out there but those little ass-hats are wide awake and ready to…

I know I already posted about the rock salt used on the walkways where I live but I am stumped again. We have 3+ feet of snow now and it is due to snow for the next four days so we are both limited to walking on the treated areas since the snow is over Sully's head and I have a physical disability that makes it hard to walk in deep snow. The combination of ice, extreme cold and rock salt on the plowed and shoveled areas burns the foot pads. Other dog owners here have resorted to carrying…

Hi Holly! thanks for the comment on tuckers corgi minion picture! lol...it took a few tries, and lots of pics to get this pic. I don't give up very easily and tucker is a pretty good sport about it. in this pic he is basically balancing them on his nose, i kinda wished i cut the straps, but its still cute. with my patience and persistence and tuckers love of treats and good nature, I usually can get the pics i want. :)
Oh my Holly, was that Sully you are talking about having all those losses? Glad she had you to help her through it. I believe that our dogs "know" what we have done for them. My Teddy is a puppy mill dog and he is so attentive and I think he "knows" we took him from his miserable life and gave him a chance to be a loved and cared for.
Happy Birthday!!!!! Hope you have a great day!
hey there, Holly - thanks for the note ~ Rockos not quite fluent yet, but we;re both working on it..
Cheers from chilly Michigan!
Holly, Thanks so much for helping me change my password. I really appreciate your help. Wendy
