There are so many different brands of joint supplements all containing different things it makes it so hard to choose the right one. When our vet told us to put Finn on a supplement we asked him what brand is best and he said something to the effect of there not being any quality control when it comes to animal supplements so it's hard to choose a good one. He said many of them do not contain as much Glucosamine, Chondroitin etc as they claim and just because one is more expensive than another, it does not make it better. So how do you choose? The one Finnigan is on has a lot of great stuff in it and that's why we chose it, but is it the best? Let's here your opinions!

Omega 6 Fatty Acids (Linolenic Acid from Flaxseed Oil) - 170 mg
We're using Cosequin DS by recommendation of the orthopedic surgeon who examined Soffie's partially torn ligament. Soffie takes 2 a day. And we give Griffyn one a day for good measure. Don't know if it's the best one, but Dr. Goodrich highly recommended it.
Someone I know who works with horses said she uses Cosequin for them so I looked at the dog formula and it didn't seem to have as much of the right stuff in it and yet was more expensive. We wanted one that included Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, HA and Vitamin C. It's been hard finding a suppliment with all of those ingredients in it.
Cosequin DS is the best. I take the human version. They have quality control on both human and canine version.
Quality control would be a big factor for me! I didn't know that before your post. But I'm happy to read that. Darn.... I keep telling myself "do your research"! It's amazing how we just blindly follow what we're told, without question.
I use Zuke's Hip Action. It's a treat and a supplement all at once. I give Spencer half after breakfast and half after dinner.
I was giving to my dog SYNOQUIN cz of my vet recomendation, one month later she start to drool a lot, after searching I found out that it could be related to leaver problems, so we went for a blood test, and we found out that all leaver indicators are higher than the maximun, So we decide to stop the SYNOQUIN and we will make new testes in 1 month.
So for my personal experience i wouldnt recomend that branch
I'm still trying to get info from the vet on the Wobenzym!
I asked a specialist about it but she hadn't heard of it. I told her what it was and she was curious to learn more. She did however say that it should be safe to give it along with joint supplements such as Gluc, Chon, etc.
I just talked to my niece last week and she was going to email the vet again or her husband was going to have lunch with her...don't know what happened...
I found some good prices at Cherrybrook, from one called Naturvet. They seem to have the "right" kind of glucosamine.

We use Joint Rescue. It's seems to work very well for Peanut, he's only 4-- but he tore his acl at the dog park when he was one. So we keep him on the joint rescue as a preventative.
