I've recently adopted a corgi mix named Ace - he's an Auggie (mini-aussie x corgi). One of his ears is up, the other is flopped over. He's eight months old... and is roughly 10inches tall and 15inches long.

My question to you all is : when did your corgi stop growing? When did your corgis ears become fully perked?

I just would like to know so I have an idea about whether or not his ear is ever going to fully perk, and whether or not he's going to grow taller!

:) Thank you!

His dad was fourteen inches, and his mom 11". So the woman I am adopting has told me he is totally done growing - does anyone think that may be the case?

Also: he is currently ten inches and 11 pounds.

Our neighbour has a corgi/aussie mix that looks more like an aussi than a corgi and is waaayy bigger than my Milly. Milly is corgi with jack mixed in. She is identical to a pure breed corgi with the only difference being that she is a little taller than average.I'd say Milly really stopped growing at 12-16 months. We got her when she was 4 months and her ears were already perky. Hope that helps:)

I just spoke to a vet clinician about when Ace would stop growing - they told me he should be fully grown by now, he'd just put on some weight?

Well, make that two clinicians. I'm just so confused, haha! Thank you though. :)

One thing with corgis also is they are considered a large breed dog and that may be why they take longer to develop and fill out:) Also why the food you feed is important as they need a different protein level than a small breed that grows to their full size in a shorter time.

What kind of food do you feed your corgi? I was going to go with Beneful, or something of that nature for his short stature (and since he's still a puppy). My apartment just has a really strict height and weight limit, and he seems to fit the bill nicely.

I'll be putting up more pictures of him as soon as I pick him up after his neutering!

I feed Taste of the Wild Salmon as I still have some pups here and since it is grain free and all life stages they can all eat the same but the salmon has the lower protein level for pups. It's more expensive but I feed less. You can check out many discussions on food here. Corn free is the best. Since I really don't have a clue on how big minnie aussies get I can't help but since he is part corgi I would feed a all life stages or large breed puppy food:) Can't wait to see more pics!

He really doesn't need to be on a puppy food at 8 months old. I personally would skip the Beneful because the first ingredient is corn instead of a meat.

Wow I never knew they are considered large breed.
I had a Corgi/Aussie mix, and he quit growing around 9 mos to a year   and he always had 1 ear that would perk up and one that would flop, and the funniest thing was that it was always a different ear.  1 month the right would be perked and left would be flopped, next month completely opposite.  Augie's are a very very good mix, good luck n congrats!!!

This sounds like Ace! He has one ear that flops all the time, but perks when he is excited!

I've heard so many good things about Auggies, so this makes me glad to see at least Ace won't grow too tall. The clinicians and the woman told me he is done growing and therefore not going to break my apartment's rules.

if lucky, mine was just above my mid shin!  Good luck and congrats again on ur new addition!!

What a cute puppy! I would not go with Beneful. It really isn't a very good dog food. I feed Grover, my corgi, Wellness. You can get it at Petco or Petsmart. It's more expensive, but not the MOST expensive and it is corn free. Grover gobbles it up!

Good luck with the puppy!!!
