He's dead even at 30 lbs.
He's fed quality food (Taste of the Wild) at 2 cups a day which is right at the guideline. He's almost never fed junk food at the table and gets minimal treats- 3-5 times a week.
He gets about 60 mins~ of outdoor exercise daily. When he does go for a walk, we do a very active fetch and he's pretty pooped out by the end.
Should I be concerned at 30 lbs? Maybe he's a slightly bigger breed? He does not look plump to me.

Sid is 29 pounds at 4 years old. Zion will probably fill out a bit in the next couple years.
It seems the info on the dog food bags always tell to feel more than you should. Sidney gets a few spoonfuls of canned food and then 1/2 cup of kibble (Natural Balance Alpha dog) a day, fed at night. He gets a piece or two of chicken jerky (made in USA. If it's made in China I won't buy it) during the day, and also 1/2 hard biscuit (the kind costco sells). He does not get as much exercise as he should; he had surgery for hip dysplasia about 10 months ago and he tires out from arthritis. He looks trim when he's standing/walking but looks a bit chubby when he sits down :)
Weight in part is tied to their frame size, some corgis are just bigger than others. Gromit got big, fast, like Zion has. We've nicknamed Gromit "the corgisaurus." At 1 yr 7 mo. he's holding steady at 31-32lbs and looks good. Quantity-wise, he's getting 3/4 of a cup twice a day of Canidae dry food. He says he's starving but the vet says he looks good and healthy but 1lb less might be ideal. No table scraps, and biscuits are a controlled substance.
As near as I can tell from looking at show corgis in person (show dogs are expect to be at the peak of fitness), talking to top breeders, and our vet, most of us tend to feed a bit too much, more than the dogs actually need unless they are very active. When you run your hands lightly down Zion's sides you should *just* be able to feel his ribs with your finger tips.
Don't let Zion con you about food. The most trustworthy corgis are shameless liars about how much food they really need.
My two are very different frames. Bertie, like Gromit, is a corgisaurus, weighs 33-35 lbs, has a nice visible waist and easiily felt ribs under a layer of muscle. Ethel only weighs 25, and I think could loose a pound or two to be more ideal. So it really depends on what you see and feel: a clearly nipped in waist, and ribs under muscle. Bertie once puffed up (yes, I was at fault) to nearly 40 pounds, and seriously, he felt like a boneless chicken breast (we both had a rough winter that year).
I never go by what the bags say. Bertie gets a full cup of food a day (half in AM and half in PM), while Ethel gets a little less, 3/4 cup or so. They get good exercise everyday, and maintain their weight well. They do get cookies....who can resist the Corgi staredown, be honest!
Maggie (Cardigan) is 4 years old & weighs 30 lbs (she is not overweight at all). Maggie is fed Taste of the Wild as well, but she gets a little more than 1/2 cup in the morning & the same in the evening. She also gets 4 biscuits a day, along with small portions of fresh fruit & vegetables.
I agree with what folks have said, too. My three cardis are definitely on the corgisaurus side (40-50), but all three have a definite waist (wish I did!) and I can feel their ribs without squishing. Mine get twice a day about 1/2-3/4 cup TOTW plus a small spoonful of TOTW or other high quality brand canned stuff (or diced chicken or somesuch) plus some baby carrots (which they love). Some treats (like USA made chicken jerky). Oh, and all the deer poop they can eat, apparently.
Alway look for his "Waist"....Does he have defined waistline in the area of where his rib cage ends? Also theh advise about checking his rib coverage is great advise. You should not feel that he has an ample covering of fat over his ribs. When my male, much more prone than my female, picks up weight we feed him cottage cheese and green beans for a few days and "whammo" slender waist again.
The green bean cottage cheese measurements are 1/3 to 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1/2 to 3/4 cup of green beans. This is not meant to be a permanent diet plan just a quick get in shape for a few days and then back to his normal diet. My female is always very jealous when he is getting his "diet" food because she LOVES it. I have to put some on top of her regular food. So spoiled but love 'em to pieces!!! ^,,^
