yes, there are tons of people who don't believe you when you say your baby isn't a mix. since the Cardigan isn't a common breed and the blue isn't a coat that they've ever seen a Pem in, they just can't believe it's not a mix. I always get "he's an Australian Shepherd and what?" But I actually have brochures on the Cardigan that I can hand out!

we're related! Dudley has a log of Coedwig and Phi-Vestavia too!

Oh yes. And I have the same trouble often with people who don't believe she's a pure bred anything. I think the name is responsible too. When people first hear it......Cardigan Welsh Corgi = Sweater Corgi = Labradoodle. LOL

I bet every single person here has been stopped and asked, "What mix is that?"

So far, I've heard "Basset X Australian Shepherd, Blue Heeler (huh) and my personal favorite, Catahoula. One person guessed Beagle/Basset. I've also heard Australian Shepherd X Corgi. (Well, one part was right!) Another insisted to me that Simon couldn't be a Corgi, I'd been ripped off by the breeder, because Corgis don't come in merle, he had to be a mix. However, it's funny, Pembroke people spot him immediately and know exactly what he is.

I got Simon from Dona's co-kennel at Notzmo. (They're wonderful, btw. Simon was exactly what she told me he was, right down to housebreaking and how he likes to hold his leash in his mouth sometimes.) Yup, Carbon is in there a lot on Simon's pedigree -- three times I think, he's got a lot of Coedwig breeding. Actually, what I loved was also the Pecan Valley (Double Exposure) and Phi-Vestavia lines in there as well.

I got my girl from Aurigan, who used to be in Oregon but has recently moved closer and now lives in Washington. I'd say the most famous dog in her pedigree is probably CH Phi-Vestavia Inkling as he was a famous stud. Here is Maisy's pedigree online:

I actually added a lot of the dogs and photos myself in the database.

So for the question for today; Since we might think all are dogs could be related , Where did you aquire your blue and if known who is your pups biggest known relative. Captain's would be Ch Coedwig's Carbon Blue.

I don't know why but why is it the the blue puppies are so ore cuter to look at. Probably because you don't normally she the coloring in what people think are corgi's.
