I just got my 2010 Corgi calendar today. So Cute!!! I think I got my order in at the last moment, because when I went to order another one, it said it was sold out :(
I agree, I have heard of those stories a lot from "lost lovers". One never knows. I don't think that relying on a dog is a right way to rekindle a relationship. I know that at one time, my mother in law wanted us to pick out a kitten for her. She did not know how. We actually had to lie and say if was for us. I felt so bad saying that, but I knew that if she did not like it, we would have taken it anyhow. long story short, she loved the cat, and has had him for 15 years :)
My first Pembrokeis from that type of situation! He got it to win his exback then took him to the place he worked and said this is whatI was going to give you for Valentine's Day and then walked out. Did not work and he ended up putting his animosity out on the puppy. He kept him in the crate and kick him when he would pee in the house. I rescued him not even knowing what type of breed he was and I fell in love with the breed and he was my best friend and we goteach other through some rough times! That is no situation though that I puppy should ever have to go through!!!!
be aware that some puppy brokers give sad stories to people to try to get a puppy inexpensively, then sell them for very high prices or use them for puppy mills. Just a thought.
By the way Lakeland Animal Shelter in Elkhorn, WI is having it's Whisker Walk again on September 26 at the Upper Springs Park in Delavan, WI.
It's not posted on their site yet, but here is a link to them: http://www.lakelandanimalshelter.org/
Or, you can e-mail them at
whiskerwalk@lakelandanimalshelter.org
if you want more information about it. Also, if you are in the area, you can stop into the shelter and buy some raffle tickets (you do not need to be present to win) or pick up a Pledge Sheet if you want to walk in it (and you can also walk your dog, or a shelter dog, in it).
The walk is roughly 1 mile long and they will also be playing games and there will be a lunch as well (for a small fee).
I agree, if that is his reason behind wanting a puppy then I would tell to reconsider. After all, what happens if she decides to say No? Hopefully any breeder he goes to will be smart enough to not sell to him for that reason.
...Not to be unromantic...but doesn't getting a puppy with the hopes of winning back an "ex" seem like a bad idea? I hope at least he's not planning on showing up with puppy in hand. It's a little like the baby chicks for Easter thing. :(
