and Zippy, where do you call home? we'll see if there is anybody else close to you... Hope you can make it to our picnic in Sept. We have a great raffle. Also, the dog park doesn't have electricity available, so if you are coming, keep this in  mind. Again, welcome to the group.......

MARK YOUR CALENDERS!!!

2014 WI Corgi Picnic has been set for September 13, 1-5 p.m. at the Jefferson County Dog Park!!!

Also, some additional exciting news:

FaerieLand Corgi Rescue will be ON-SITE with Rescue Dogs!! So if you are interested in adopting, or know anybody who is looking to add a Corgi into their life, feel free to come and meet some dogs in need of a home!! In addition, if you have any old sheets, blankets or towels that you are looking to throw away, we are asking you to bring them along as a donation to FaerieLand.

As in previous years, we will be holding our Raffle For Rescue. Tickets will be 1 ticket = $1 or 6 tickets = $5. There will also be a special $5 Raffle Item up for auction.

Corgi Breeders as well as dog trainers will also be on site.

Cost is $5 per dog--paid to the Jefferson County Parks Department and we are asking people to bring a dish to pass. Also, we will have some chairs available, but you may want to bring a chair just in case.

I am also looking for people to show up early to help set-up and stay after to help tear down. We are also asking that if anyone has an extra ;pop-up tent if they could bring it along for shade.

I will be posting a .JPG as well as a .PDF of our flyer, feel free to print out some copies and place them around your local pet stores, dog parks and vet clinics!

Can't wait!!!

Hi everyone.............. Hope you all had a great holiday......

Now, I an get serious about our raffle for our picnic this year. Kathy from FaerieLand Rescue will be at our picnic to meet everyone and talk about her rescue. I was talking to her the other day and telling her how I have the honors of cleaning out the house I grew up in (Mom went into assisted living this past year). Anyway, she asked me to watch for old blankets, towels, bed sheets for her to use for her rescue. I told her ' No Problem" So, when I was talking to Andrea yesterday, it dawned on me that spring house cleaning is just around the corner.

So, I am asking you all if you come across any old blanket, bed sheets , towels or anything she could use to please set them aside and bring them to the picnic in Sept.

Also, I will be starting to get more into donations and looking for possible suggestions on what I can do different for this years raffle. I have a couple of things cooking already, but would love to hear from you. my email is:corgi97@aol.com....... suggestions are welcome....... thanks all and  have a great day............. Vicky

Chris..... sounds like you all had fun today. Jack doesn't even like wearing bandanas  from the groomers. I finally told her not to waste any on him or him mom. they would try to get each other's bandana off.

I don't think Joker has any weird eating habits, just his dad Jack.......

Our first corgi, Asta, would take her kibble out of the dish, piece by piece, and make a circle around her bowl with it, then walk around it eating the pieces one by one. Corgis are just weird about food!

The Lapham Peak and Kettle Moraine outings would have to be on-leash. It was just an idea for another easy place to get together.

The Demanding One spent the day at the Brady Street Dog Party. We had lots of fun! There was a costume contest (but not for Miss S--- she does NOT enjoy dressing up; bandana is about it), parade, and a blessing of the pets. She got lots of pets and treats that I handed out to those who wanted to give her something. They had a human "Bark like a dog" contest and one little girl, about two or so, did her best dog imitation when the emcee told her to bark like a dog:"Bawk, bawk, bawk!" Too funny! Sophie is sleeping off the treats, walking and fresh air. I hope we all sleep well tonight.

JAmie, I wouldn't worry to much as long as she's not getting sassy about it. Joker will take a treat and toss it around and roll on it like he's trying to kill it. Jack as he has gotten older, doesn't always eat his treats right away so they may sit around for a few days (only when Joker's gone to the handlers) but when my brother comes over, Jack will eat up his un-eaten treats. I moved the VHS cabinets from the corner the other days, and, now I don't know how he did it, but there were 4 1/2 milk bones behind these cabinets. our corgis do little weird things that I don't think we were meant to understand............

will let you know if November brings what I am hoping for...........
