We came home from dinner last night and had left 4 month old Lily in her crate as usual. The crate is your basic metal see-through crate, we have it between the foot of my bed and my closets and backed up against the wall. On the top of the crate I put a blanket to keep it "cave - like".

Anyway, I think my dad put the crate upside down (it's been a while since Lola used it) as there are some larger (not huge, but def bigger than the openings on the sides, etc) holes on the top of the crate. Never thought anything of it.

SO we get home AND Lily is THERE are the door, too! Did I forget to lock the door to the crate? Did she OPEN it?

Shredded toilet paper (clean thankfully haha fresh off the roll) strewn about the house, I rushed to my room and saw the crate door shut and secured closed as I had left it.

The blanket on TOP of the crate, however, was tossed aside -- she climbed through one of the barely big enough larger "holes" on the top of the crate. THROUGH THE TOP!

What I would give to have caught that on tape to see just how she did it!

Good news is she was not hurt thank god.. and she left no potty messes nor did she destroy anything else .. just some TP hahaha!!

What a smart, smart puppy.. we turned the crate over and the holes are regular sized on top, we must've had it upside down LOL

Still dont know if she was out for the whole time, 1 hour or even 10 minutes but we were so amazed we couldn't be even a little mad at her!

Love the pics of Momo -- they look familiar -- I think Annie had as much fun in puppyhood as Momo did! :-)

We just bought safety gates and when I am gone Corky is in the kitchen, and laundry room all with stone floors! We refer to it as "puppy prison" but it has worked fantastic no more "accidents" little turds found in far off unsued rooms, bizarre things chewed on toilet paper rolls strewn around, and it keeps the hair down. He sheds like a beast does everyone elses corgis shed ssoooooo much? I just leave him his water and chew toys and he's really good I bought them at home depot they are like a shower rod easy to move and take with us up to our cottage too!

Would some of you check my post on the Fall 2008 Puppy Group? I could use some suggestions about how to work with my baby girl during a period of serious upheaval in our family that has interrupted her training process. She is still cute and loveable except that while we are out (explanation on other group page), or not paying attention to her, she is chewing my house away! Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
