Spoiled Rotten Corgis

For all the corgis out there who are doted on by your families, get your own way, and are basically spoiled beyond belief. I would love to hear your stories.

We have just returned from a weeks vacation in Jacksonville and little side trip to Orlando without Ed and Gem. They stay with Auntie and Uncle and their 2 college aged kids home for the Summer when we leave. They have a great time there and I know get lots of walks and attention. Gem follows uncle around the house like she does my husband and Ed just goes with the flow.... they really love it there and we can relax knowing they are being very well taken care of. We couldn't do it without there help and we appreciate them very much!!!

We have sitters than come stay at the house. These two have them wrapped around all ten fingers in a matter of days. When the sitters leave they send the boys presents and emails. Bev is right..........corgi can train a human in a matter of hours. We never had a chance.

It has taken a full two weeks to recondition our two from their 10 day stay with our dog sitters. So thankful for them (dogsitters), but man they caved. JR gave them the standard beg postion (sitting on his haunches with paws in the air) and it worked EVERY time. AJ acted like the queen of the palace refusing to come to anyone when they called and demanding sofa, bed time, and cookies at will. One night I checked in to find the dogs were being feed browned hamburger. Yeah, it has been a real reality check the past two weeks. Short rations of kibble, limited cookies but lots of hugs and kisses. They were a little chunked up when we got home....but so thankful that they got to stay at home rather the being put into the kennel. Corgis...what would we do without them?

A dull life for certain! ^,,^

I think Ms. Attidtude is getting one of those Bark Offs that they advertise on TV. Her latest trick (you know she'll be 10 in November, maybe it's senility) is to demand that I go to bed with her. Storms have never bothered her til lately and now she becomes fussy and grumpy wanting me to give her my undivided attention. Sunday night during an extremely flashy thunder and light show it started. So I said go to bed if you want to. Well she hops at the opportunity to get in to bed early and then when she realizes that I am not joining her, she sits on the edge of the bed and barks her commands. This happened again Tuesday morning when I got up early and decided to lay on the couch and watch the early local news. When I told her I was not coming back to bed she came flying in decided to go to sleep on her bed in the living room. Is she rotten or what?!

My babies turned six today! I can't believe how fast time flies. I gave them an extra treat and we played lots of fetch. Mostly I gave them lots of hugs, and kisses because time really goes much too fast! Give your babies an extra big hug to help us celebrate!

I really love the trip with Whisper! It sounds to me like she has the whole thing figured out!! And then to get the big bed all to herself, now thats a lucky and very smart girl.

Whisper and I went to a horse show this past weekend and if you all have been watching the weather, we have had record rain alternating with heat and in Oklahoma that equals 100% humidity. After two days of being outside, when we got in the car to go home she was pretty grumpy, so I had to pull over and adjust her front seat so it was as close to the a/c vent as possible. Then the "Princess" was happy cause she could sit with her nose in the vent for the 90 miles home. Course she let me fall asleep on the couch and went to bed without me so she coud have the queen bed to herself!

I am out of the country doing research. Henry is currently staying with my parents, who have several other corgis. Apparently, he now has his choice of chewies, between beef flavored rawhides, chicken flavored rawhides, white rawhides, bully sticks and pig ears. He chooses a new one for each chewing session. He was a spoiled monster before he went to stay with them--I'm dreading what he'll be like when I get him back!
