Knee Surgery Update!!!!!

Posted on May 1, 2009 at 2:42am 2 Comments

It has been a while since I have been on, but I just thougt I would give a little update and maybe help someone else out who may be facing the same delima I did. My Sweet Sophie ended up having surgery to repair her torn ACL. It has been a little over a month now and she is doing great! She no longer has stitces or a bandage, and she would probably tell you the best part is that she does not have to wear that silly cone any more. Before she had the surgery I wondered if I would be doing the… Continue

Knee Surgery???

Posted on March 13, 2009 at 12:58pm 5 Comments

I took Sophie to the vet this morning because she has been limping since Tuesday evening. He said that he recommends that she have surgery to correct the ligament. Has anyone been faced with this decision, and if so what helped you decide? I am wondering if there is another option. I am open to any suggestions. I want to do my homework to make sure I make the right decision for my baby!

Bum Leg.....

My boyfriend and I took Sophie to the park to play the other day. We were having a great time running around and playing with her big red ball, when all of a sudden she ran off to the side and sat down, and when she got up she whimpered and started to limp. She was not putting pressure on her back right foot. She has been limping around for 2 days now. She lets you touch it and pull on it without crying. I looked to see if maybe there was something stuck in her paw pads, but I didn't find… Continue

Big Red Ball!

Posted on March 4, 2009 at 12:31am 7 Comments

I read on someone's page that kid's balls make the best herding toys, and Sophie confirmed that they do. I went to Target tonight and spent what I consider to be the best $2.50 ever. She loves that ball, and it provided great entertainment for our family too. Thanks for the big red ball idea!

They put Sierra on an anti-inflammatory for a week and we had to keep her still for a week. It was easier because Sierra (the Jack) is only 11 pounds and it seemed to heal just fine. I hope that helps.

hey no problem, im glad I could help! Orthopedic surgeries are never cheap, but are the right answer as to how the solve the problem. You should consider getting her knee fixed asap! If you have any more questions i'd love to help!

orthopedic surgery to deepen the groove in her knee so that knee cap can sit better in there. But have you vet check it out. It could be nothing major.

Thank you very much. I took that picture last summer before I had gotten Sian but its one of my favorite shots. I'll have to do it again this year to update it.
