Well, after a friends suggestion, I decided to take Kate to another vet to see what is wrong with her back legs. It took the vet all of 5 mins to tell me, Kate has Luxated Patella, and she has strained her back because of it.

I was actually tearing up at the vets i was so relieved.

She wont need surgery, and she will probably live a long and happy life, and probably wont need a wheelchair. I am so glad I pursued this and found the problem.

But she will have limited…

Pat, I am so sorry that I have not been active and asked about Katie!  I hope that she is doing well and that she and Ringo have adapted well.  How are you?  Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Carol, Lucky and Sonny

Pat, so sorry to hear abt your heart attack and stents. Take care of yourself! Did a social worker (I normally hate them) at the hosp. talk to you abt bills, meds, etc & how you were going to pay for things? In OR it is a free service! There is also sometimes help for paying for your meds, contact the company who makes the medication if you are on one that is not generic! The pahrmacist MAY be able to help. Plavix is often given after stents (not my BIL) but it is EXPENSIVE

Thanks for the update! You must be terribly frustrated at this point. Did you mention stiffles to the vet? Remember to mention to this new vet. Vet may not think you are exaggerating, he may be frustrated with himself as he cannot diagnose? (probably not, just a thought) Good luck, remember to keep her calm -oh yea she is a corgi - well try anyway, I think it is important

Are you sure you want to go back to the first vet? Just a question, no pressure. Since i don't know your situation except on this site and wheelcorgis, hard for me to say. What do you know about hocks vs stiffles? Is one more important than the other? I know nothing so I am just questioning again - I will be the one to push you with questions if you don't mind!

hi Pat! Thank you for the friend request, I feel like we have been friends for a long time, with all the stuff going on about Katie!! I sure hope that you can get the Xrays from the old vet, if all else fails, maybe you can sign a release at the new vets office for the new vet to request - sortof like we do with doctors, just a thought. You might call the new vet and see. I am glad you have Ringo - a pup? sounds like a very active one! Try to keep Katie quiet until you see the new vet - I know it is difficult, Lucky seal walks after things when he wants to go. Good luck, keep me posted! Carol

Pat, you got a new corgi??? How is Katie doing, will you be able to get her into a new vet? I hope that the new vet can help with diagnosis of the hocks problem for you. Good luck. Carol, Lucky and Sonny
