Dewi and I spent the morning at the vet after a 4 a.m. urgent potty call, followed by 6:30 a.m. straining and dry heaves. Thankfully, it wasn't an intestinal blockage (as I had feared). However, $242 and two hours of poking, prodding, testing, questioning and waiting later, we learned that Dewi is suffering from a case of acute colitis (which neither of us have ever dealt with before). Had Jon Farleigh tested for herding instinct yesterday morning; he didn't get a certificate (sigh). On the bright side, however, he enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet of sheep poo and a compulsory scratch behind the ears. He was a happy camper.

I, on the other hand, can't seem to get over the let-down - kind of like my kid got cut from the team. Jon might be fluffy, but darn it, he should make a fine herding…

Seems Jon Farleigh has a little problem with rain...and umbrellas...and walking on leash with ladies under umbrellas...and pooping outside in the rain (even though it's been 13 hours and he's scarfed two meals). Ugh! Mom is very wet and cold and tired...

So, I don't usually brag, but the Cardi boys are worth an exception today.
