Green Eye'd Dogs

I found a really neat article about dogs and envy. The basic premise is that if a dog sees another dog getting a better reward for the same command that they are doing, they will stop doing the command because they see that they are getting a raw deal.

Some of us already know that our Corgis are clever little furkids, but I never imagined that the reason she hates the cats might be because she thinks they get better… Continue

Can't do it if you are watching.....

Well today for the 1st time I caught Le-Le in the act of coming down the stairs. She has made us be her human elevator since day one. My husband thinks this is cute and says 'Don't teach her to go down, she might hurt herself. I'll pick her up and carry her down... just ask me". Well I am sure you can imagine who 9 out of 10 times takes her down the stairs. Granted most of the time she is following me up and so I have to bring her down. Well there have been a few exceptions when she has gone… Continue

Le-Le 7 months and counting.....

Le-Le has been part of our family for 7 months now and we are having a wonderful time. Each day brings her more out of her shell. She comes to life at dinner time, and right before bed. So funny that she wants to play with her toys then, runs between the bed and other rooms. She steals a sock, a dish towel, napkin out of the laundry basket and runs outside if the door is open, another room or under a sofa to have a quick chew. She notices the leaves falling & tries to catch them. She is so… Continue

Effective Bark Deterrent

This is more of a product review than a blog. My neighbors have a pitbull mix and two chihuahuas that are extremely barky. They also bark at all hours of the day and night. My neighbor previously had a third chihuahua that was more barky than the other three put together. I complained about the most barky dog to the neighbor lady and that poor little dog was never seen again. I didn't have the heart to ask what happened to it. Rather than make one of the other dogs disappear (they're all rescue… Continue

Nibbling when scratched?

Well, I'll try to describe this the best I can. Ever since I got Abby, like every dog, she LOVES belly rubs and will kick her back legs when I hit a good spot. BUT...she ALSO will start to nibble on my arm, like those old cartoon characters would eat corn...ya know? I just want to start making that typewriter noise...*tick, tick, tick, tick, DING!* It doesn't hurt and I think it's the funniest quirk about her...she uses her front nubbly teeth and just nibbles in little rows on my arm back and… Continue

Le-Le on the road and other photographs

I just put up some new photo's of Le-Le. When we first got Le-Le we had her in her crate while we were driving since we thought this was good for her. Secure and safe. But we noticed that she was distant and we had to try to bond with her again when we stopped for the day. Plus we realized we could be on the road with pits stops of course but we on the road for many many hours. So we were in Wal-Mart and I saw a bass boat chair and thought this would do the trick. We got it and put one of our… Continue
