Bento managed to get past the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs and got to the second floor and the second bedroom where we were hiding a stash of Patrick Roger's dark chocolate from Belgium.
He devoured a pound of the chocolate before we caught him red handed, or chocolate pawed.
After trying to induce vomit, it didn't work, we took him to the emergency room where he's spending the night even as I type.
Bento has never slept anywhere but at…

We were at the dog park yesterday. Bento was playing around with a 5 month german shepherd when another dog can running in to join the fun. This action caused Bento to start a game of "chase me!"
Unfortunately for Bento, this other dog (an akita mix?) was much more coordinated and powerful than the puppy. The other dog ran after Bento, caught up with him, and knocked Bento over--possibly stepping on him in the process. Bento let out a loud yelp and tumbled over and over…

It's Bento's first birthday! I can't believe how my furbaby has grown. To watch him grow from the little 6.6 lb peanut to the big 30 lb peanut is such a joy.
Bento, you deserve your birthday treats today! Mommy and Daddy loves you!!

Time really goes by quickly. Seven months ago, Bento was born on May 2, 2011. In celebration of his birthday, he's heading off to the local SPCA for his "fixing." Poor little guy. Mommy loves you and am really sorry about the timing of the event. Unfortunately, the SPCA only schedules these surgeries on certain days.
There will be a lovely treat waiting for you when you get home! Assuming you feel like eating it.

Bento has officially graduated from BravoPup #2 class! Yeah! It wasn't too long ago when Bento was in Pup#1 class trying to learn sit, down, and stay. Now, he knows place, heel (when he wants to), and a longer stay.
We're so proud of our little fearless corgi!

Yeah!! After sending a few pictures to The Bark, one was selected of their "The Smiling Dogs, Weekly Smilers" webpage! Bento's picture is a part of their slide show, and it's on the second slide (click the right arrow button).
Go Bento! Keep smiling!

It's been almost 4 weeks since Bento came into our lives. He is really the bestest puppy ever! We've been training him every day, and so far, he knows sit, bento, and down. He's starting to learn stand, fetch, and come/recall.
He definitely got a personality. There's a stubborn streak in him. When he's training with my husband, and my husband is a harsh grader, Bento would let out a bark of frustration when he didn't get a command correctly and therefore no treat. He…

Bento has been with us for 1 week, and he's without a doubt, an awesome corgi.
So far, he loves peanut butter. Nothing gets his furry butt wagging more than a puppy kong with peanut butter.
He's also very fond of Bil-Jac and Train Me treats. We cut them in half and use them as rewards for his training. Unfortunately, too many of these treats make his poop gooey. Must be the higher fat content. Which is why we switched over to Natural Balance Duck and…

We drove back from Bakersfield, and Bento is officially home! The drive back was uneventful. He slept almost the entire way, and he didn't have any accidents. Of course, as soon as he started to whine, we pulled over and let him out. Once we got home, he started to explore.
Aside from a few accidents (really need to get that Bissell Spotbot), totally our fault because we weren't paying attention, he's great at whining and looking at you in the face to show that he needs…

It's amazing how long 8 weeks are! My husband and I can't wait for our new addition. Every time I walk by a pet store, I have to go in and look. So many choices when it comes to what to buy for Bento. I'll be compiling a list of things for a new puppy and how much we spent. Data collecting is good.
