I was wondering when you guys noticed your corgi changing into the temperament of an adult dog. My little guy is exactly 11 months old now, and I'm noticing a few more laid back tendencies in him, however, he is nowhere close to calm. In fact, recently, you can't turn around and trust him near any shoes.



My trainer said not to expect him to be tempered as an adult until 2 years of age. I can tell Rocky isn't done growing (he's only 23 lbs) but I was wondering if you guys knew what to… Continue

Rockstar passed his CGC tonight and is officially a 'good dog' .... well I guess you could say that. I'm proud of my five month old puppy getting his done so early. I am working at training him to be a service dog for me and we're going to do an agility class as well as an advanced off lead work class this summer.

Not much else to say. Its late.

Its amazing how quickly the little puppies become big dogs. I was comparing pictures of Rocky today with pictures of him in Feb, and I'm amazed at how much he's grown. I miss the little cute Rocky, but I don't miss his little "cute" oopsie puddles if I waited just a couple minutes too long to take him outside.

Rocky came home in fine shape today. There is still a bit of puffiness in his face, but he hasn't been itching or any other unusual behavior. So for now, I'm happy to report that he seems to be ok. He did mess in his kennel today, but I'm cutting him slack since I left his leash at home and couldn't walk him before the ride home from the vet's office. He's never done this (save his first night in it) and hasn't messed in the house all night, so I think it was an accident.

Today Rocky had his last set of shots from the vet until he gets neutered. Sadly, I'm waiting until morning to see if he makes it through the night. About two hours after he got his rabies shot, he laid down for a nap (after having dinner, playing fetch, barking at the cat.../sigh, and snuggling me) and when he woke up went to mess with his water bowl. I hadn't looked at him in about 20 minutes, and then saw his face and eyes were so swollen up that he almost didn't look like a corgi. I felt so… Continue

Tonight was Rocky's first obedience lesson. I'm so excited about his lessons. I already have a much better idea about how to keep his attention and everything.

Good stuff.

I love cats, well most cats, most of the time. But this week my mom's evil young grey cat scratched my puppy in his eyeball. Now I have to cope with the 3 month old puppy possibly losing his eye, not to mention the super-fun vet bills for emergency work. So far everything is ok, but only time will tell if some complication comes up.



I am at a loss of what to do with the cats other than keep them separated from the dog. Its bad enough he wants to play with them and they want nothing… Continue

I don't look for 5 minutes and he's covered in litter and eating his favorite treat (he doesn't even have to sit for it)!!

Then he's all wet from a bath. /sigh

So today is my first vet visit, in about 45 minutes, actually. I think Dexter is going to get a name change because he doesn't answer to his name at all. He does come to "Rocky" because it sounds like puppy, so I think I'm going to call him Rocky. It fits because he'll be named after my boyfriend while he's at war. Rockstar is his Army nickname, so I think Rocky is appropriate since he was a present to keep me company.

Here goes. Hope he likes needles!

Boy does my boy love to run. Now if I can get him to quit nipping at our older dog. =(

Oh and my mom's grey cat is actually climbing the walls with disgust at the puppy. Poor kitty.

Dexy got his ears up today, the left one flops a bit when he runs, but we're very excited that they stand on their own.

In other news, we've also decided its good to potty outside and that "sit" means sit. What a smart puppy.
