The midgets and I have moved

The kiddies and I have moved back to Tulare.
If anyone is local and wants to start having play-dates, let me know.

I could also use recommedations for mobile groomers.

Newly appointed organizer

Well, Lindsay Wilson has moved to Idaho and made me the new organizer for Inland Empire Corgis Meetup (formerly Rancho Cucamonga Corgis) on MeetUp.com.

Our next event is a play day at Baldy View Park in Upland. I hope some of you folks can attend.

By the way, if any one out there is near San Diego, I'm taking my triad for a beach play date on Coronado tomorrow, 8/15/08. I'm meeting up with the adopter of my first successful foster to see how things are going and to let Koda and… Continue

Digital issues

Please ignore the dates on the pictures I took. My digital camera was having issues that day. These photos are from the 6/28/08 Corgi Fun Day held at Featherly Park in Anaheim.

Senior corgi needs you

Once again, a beautiful corgi has passed through our rescue. The picture shown on my home page is now of Kelley, and 11 1/2 year old sable female. Her owner is suffering with Altzheimer's and has been relocated to a nursing home. Sadly, no family member was able to take Kelley in and care for her in her twilight years. She is now being looked after by Humane Animal Rescue Team (HART) in Los Angeles. Her bio on their site (http://www.hart4dogs.org/hart_dogs.htm) reads as… Continue

Scrappy

This past Saturday, 6-14-08, I picked up a very large 2 1/2 yr old sable male for fosterage. There apparently was an issue with a neighbor tormenting the dog and then calling in noise complaints and viscious animal complaints. The owners missed the court appearance date and were forced to give him away by default.

Scrappy could be a good boy. He's never had to be, never been taught how, but he has it in him. He can be aggressive with humans - he's snapped at me several times when he… Continue

Lady found a home

Lady was found wandering as a stray in Ramona, CA about a year ago. A family took her in, cared for her, and searched for her owner to no avail. About 6 months ago, she injured her eye on a cactus plant and ended up losing it. She has adjusted well and now exits the doggy door at 97 mph instead of 100 mph. The vet places her age at between 2 and 3 years old.

She is very people-friendly, and behaves well with a 19-mo old grandchild. There have been no issues with the 7 other dogs at the… Continue

New Foster

On Saturday, May 24, 2008, I will be picking up my new foster-furrball. Pictures will be up by Monday.

CJ is a 13 month old female r/w pembroke current on all shots and has been spayed. She will have an Avid microchip implanted while in foster care.

There are no behavioral issues reported with CJ. The owners have purchased a condo which has no back yard and feel it is unfair to her to keep her in the house while they are at work. She is reported as being housetrained,… Continue

pUpdate

The latest word on Toby is that the owner who surrendered him is regretting her decision. He may be going back to her instead up being placed for adoption.
It's true what they say, you don't know what you got til it's gone. Hopefully being separated from him will inspire the owner to work with him instead of throwing him away.
We shall see.

Training to Herd

When my feet aren't killing me (plantar faciitis is a horrible thing), my monkeys are learning to herd sheep in Riverside.

I'd love to see more corgis come out to participate. The trainer, Doug, has a spot on meetup.com under SoCal Stockdog Herding. It's alot of fun to see the kids doing what they were bred to do. It's a great energy outlet for them.

I'm going to try to take my Triad to the HB dog park this Sunday (5/18/08). Getting there from Moreno Valley by 10am when the… Continue
