Just got done giving Chase a much needed bath, he did not enjoy it at all. It may seem weird to some, but sometimes bathe him with me when I take a shower. He seems to handle that much better. I think maybe it's because he's in there with me? He's such a mama's boy.
So I was just wondering...
Who hates bath time and who loves it?
Also if you have methods to making bath time more fun I would love to hear them.
Chase and I play right after bath time. Tug o' war with the towel and we make drying off a big game. :)

Both my dogs love water, but Brodie loves baths and Kadi hates them. She prefers to play in mud puddles. We joke and say she hates clean water! We rarely have to bathe either of them though, because they are very 'self-cleaning'.
Lucy has good company here. I jsut had to give her a bath over the weekend after she rolled in something very, very stinky. Can't say she liked it, but she definitely was a good puppy throughout. As I shampooed and rinsed I jsut kept telling her what a good girl she was. I had her in the kitchen sink (easier on my back and she fits--I have a spray nozzle to make rinsing easy) and at one point she resigned herself to the "ordeal' and rested her chin on a towel covering the edge of the sink and kitchen counter. Now the "towel game" is another story. She loves that part. I used 4 towels to dry her as I could not get near her with the dryer. Happy to say the stink is gone!
I finally gave Noodles a bath this past Thursday and he tolerates it. That is the best way to describe it. He will act excited and wait for me to put him in the bathtub, but once in, he lowers his head and rolls his eyes up to look at me. He also scoots to the opposite end of the tub as the water (as Tori said) and I basically have to drag him down to the water. We have one of those hand held shower heads and that works wonders with reaching his belly. He constantly licks me and I keep telling him he's a good boy the whole time. He loves being dried off and then does his frap around the house once he is out of the bathroom. He always looks so happy after the bath and I love how fluffy he looks.
I think Ace actually LIKES bath time. He lies down in the tub and dons a very zen expression on his face, closing his eyes when I rub his tummy to get rid of dirt and nasties. He also really enjoys being blow-dried - he almost falls asleep to the whirr of the motor and really seems to like it. I think he's not a real corgi!
Tilly doesn't care for it, but she's used to it! She's been getting baths at work with me since she was a pup (used to work at a kennel, now a dog groomer/salon manager) so she's used to the routine. Sometimes she comes with me just to hang out and get brushed, instead of the full bath process. I've just always made it a good experience for her, lots of rubbing and petting, and the frequency of it has helped her learn to come to terms with it! XD
Pazu doesn't love the bath tub but he loves the after bath, drying off with towel game. He is okay with it actually. As a puppy, we used to go into a DRY bathtub and sit around and play in it. And then I add some water and a little more with treats. We could probably still play in it except I need a rubber mat in the bathtub or I'm afraid he'll slip.
I bathe my dogs in the tub/shower with me. Snickers and Jack will get in the tub on command, though they aren't happy about it. I'm not good at talking while I work (I can't multi task) but they do get a nice massage, "good job" and then a treat when they are done. I dry them in the shower and let them out to roll around on the towels on the floor until I get out. They get a treat when we are done. Dolly, our rescue, is still learning and so she gets coaxed in with treats, but she tolerates the shower itself well enough. I think all dogs go nuts, frapping around the house after a bath- don't know why.
I usually get that "I'm so miserable" face but Chase does pretty well most of the time. UNLESS I get water in his ears. Then it's "I'm done! See ya!" He HATES water in the ears, and I can't say I blame him. I think him showering with me is also the easiest way to go, I just have to make sure I have someone there to take him and towel off while I rinse all the Corgi hair off. lol
I've never thought of giving him a food reward while I bathe him, he has bath toys to distract him but maybe I will try treats and see if it makes it more enjoyable. I just wanted to see how others bathing experiences are and I love to hear other methods. :)
