I got a bell shaped birdseed for the birds in the backyard.  I thought it might amuse Chloe.  Today at agility the trainer noticed that Chloe's eyes did not seem as bright, and she was not as eager.  (  Chloe's favorite day is agility and LOVES it)

While we were there Chloe had a BM, and that had some birdseed in it.  I wonder if the seeds could make her have a real upset tummy? Chloe normally does not have a BM on walks or at agility practice.

I wonder if other parents have experienced issues with birdseed? She gets Candidae dry food, and her treats are a busy bone about 2x a week.  The busy bones have not caused problems before.

Thanks for reading.

I remember when I taught preschool (2003-2005) we had to take the birdseed out of the sensory table (kids loved to play in it!) because there were toxic pesticide residues in many wild birdseeds. I would check out your brand of bird seed (or the company that makes the bell) and be sure it is pesticide free.

Jake chows down on birdseed all the time, too.  I've never noticed any ill effects.

I agree the birdseed probably did not make her sick...mine do this fairly regularly.

The problem is probably not the birdseed but the bird poop on the ground under it that she is eating as well. Take a stool sample in to your vet. I moved my feeders to the side of my house where the dogs can't get under it after a couple trips to the vet.
