Does Bartleby look pure corgi or mixed?

Bartleby is still a growing pup (over 5 months old now)and that's why he's so skinny, but I've received multiple comments from people asking what he's mixed with. Another corgi owner I ran into out with him today said his legs looked long for a corgi. I've noticed comparing Bartleby to other corgis that his snout seems skinnier. I saw both his parents and they were both definitely corgis, although I remember thinking his mother also had a slightly long, skinny snout for a pembroke corgi. The breeder said she had the AKC papers, although I forgot to ask to look at them when I adopted Bartleby. What do you guys think? Does he look mixed? If so, what would he even be mixed with? He would only be a 4th of something since his mom is at least part corgi and his dad looked to be a breed standard (if not a big guy) tri color corgi. For comparison, I used a pic of another corgi from a meetup next to Bartleby (the pup). Maybe part of the reason for his "looks" too is his coat being so short? Please share your opinion.

He's a teenager, that's all :).Besides, who cares about the show "breed standards" unless something is health related.I loved Sarah C's pics.Great example.

@ Suzi Zeus & Valentine :

I do feel like I see some Cardigan in him, especially in the pic of Bartleby featured on here, his legs look quite "bowed", which is more like Cardis. Ultimately, its not a huge deal to me if he's 1/4 Cardigan and Pem or even something else since he's such a geat little guy, but obviously I'm very curious to know! I suspect he might be part bunny with his hopping ways and big ears. Oh and he loves carrots.

He looks pure to me. Not real "typey" but he may grow into himself as he gets older.

I agree with Jane. He looks just like a half grown corgi. Didi looked like this:

At 5 months. You can see the similarities. Chest isn't deep enough, coat is all... whatever is going on there. Nose is in that between stage.

Just a year later she looked like this

Suddenly a corgi, right? And she's only gotten fuller since then.

Probably he's all corgi, just young.

As others have said, he looks to be purebred but not breed standard. People don't realize corgis come in other colors than the typical red and white. They also don't realize corgis don't have to be grossly obese. I ALWAYS have people asking me what kind of mix franklin is  because he is a fit tri color. As a pup he was gangly and underweight. I could feed him a 30 pound bag of food and he'd still be skinny! Now at 2 1/2 he has put on a lot of weight and filled out. Sometimes a skinny corgi also gives the impression of being "taller".  He is very cute!

his feet and ears and snout look to be cardigan traits, looks alot like my zeus and hes a cardi , maybe somewhere down the line the mom has cardigan corgi in her? he is so darn cute :)

First of all he is in what I call the "space alien/bear butt stage"  all corgis that I have seen go through this. Their ears are too big for their bodies and their bodies are rather akward and don't always follow where their brain is telling them to go.His sable coloring is maybe throwing people off too? At this point many things have to "catch up" and as others have said...he won't be mature till at least 2. Sage is on the slender side at 18 months but I know she will fill out, it took her mom till she was 2 also. Will he be a little off....maybe-maybe not but it's way too soon to tell. Enjoy your young one! I would say he's a purebred!

My Sparty is pretty far from the Breed Standard too but he is all corgi and has AKC papers. He just has relatives named Stubs and Shorty! He is still my baby and I love him. I consider him a Blue Collar Corgi. Breeders focus on certain things to produce a beautiful and healthy dog but the less carefully bred dogs can be just as fun to live with.
