Murphy hasn't been feeling too well. He's had diarrhea for a week now. I don't know how he got it or why its taking so long to get out of his system, but I feel really bad for him. We haven't been doing anything different with his food, he's been eating what he always eats. Right now, my poor baby is upstairs on our bed. I went up and checked on him and he wouldn't even move until I started rubbing his belly then he rolled onto his back, but he doesn't look like he's feeling too well. I feel confident that he'll get better soon, but I just hate seeing him like this. I'm going to go check on him again to see how he is. I wish there was something i could do. What would you recommend?

Thanks to everyone's advice and get well wishes. We really appreciate it. As it turns out, Murphy slept most of the day yesterday and when he was awake I'd give him some ice cubes just in case he was dehydrated. He wasn't drinking much water so I figured maybe he'll eat these ice cubes and make him feel a little bit better. Then by early evening he started playing again and acting himself. That's when I decided that I'm not going to take him to see the vet unless of course, he gets sick again. This morning he had nice solid stools which I was really happy about. I'm going to continue to keep an eye on him today to see if anything changes, but I think he's doing much much better.

i definitely suggest taking him to the vet. its its been a week, that's really way too long for him to be experiencing that. i agree with bev on the rice and boiled meat for his next meal. please keep us posted and we wish murphy a speedy recovery!!

I would call the vet. Usually with diarrhea you should skip a meal to settle the tummy and then resume with small portions of rice and boiled meat but this has gone on too long and he may be dehydrated.

Take him to the ASAP if he's had the diarrhea that long! He could be dehydrated or really sick. I don't mean to scare you but that's too long! Is he eating/drinking. Please call the vet now!

Good luck!

You might want to call your Vet and ask them for suggestions. A week is a long time for diarrhea, you want to make sure that it is not a warning sign for something else. They might want you to bring some of the stool in to be checked . Hope he is feeling better soon.
