Took Cocosette to the vet for a puppy check-in. She was mostly calm about the entire affair-- the weighing, nail clipping, temp taking (Ay!) and the doc's exam. Her only objections were to the shot and, oddly enough, the dose of de-wormer. I've only had her for a week, but she's already growing like a weed; added another pound since her last weigh-in. The vet had lovely, soft hands manipulating Cocosette and gave me some sage advice regarding some things I'd already been doing wrong --no more Dentastix, no more baby shampoo, no more hard Nylabone. I left feeling a bit dense but pleased with Cocosette's progress.
Last weekend we went to the lake for a while. Cocosette, not a fan of the water, enjoyed romping on the sand instead. My longer-term aim is to get her to balance on the boogie board so she can be a hip doggie! I suspect it's gonna take several summers.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Jane, Priscilla, Carly and Frankie. I'm still figuring out how to reply to individual comments here on this site, lol.
To answer your question, Priscilla, Carly and Frankie, the vet wasn't keen on any chew sticks that can break into small pieces, not even the edible ones, due to Cocosette still having her baby teeth. Baby is only 9 weeks old. I had given her one of the small dog Dentastix. That bag will go back in the cupboard for a while. Gummabone was suggested instead--? I haven't checked it out yet. The vet also didn't want Cocosette to have any hard Nylabones at all right now. Only the softest, bendy ones. I'll be making yet (another) trip to Petco mañana...
