I just gave my dog a bath today and after I dried him off with the towel there was dog hair EVERYWHERE. I walked out into my room and noticed that my floor was covered in dog hair, my bed was covered in it, and more than anything else, I was covered in his fur! Enough is enough! I just went on ebay and bought a medium sized one after reading this thread. It was only 20 dollars and I think if it will cut back on his shedding even a little bit it will be completely worth it. It's driving me crazy! It's in my KEYBOARD how does that even happen!?!?

I guess I'm getting a furminator. lol. I do have a good vacuum (a Dyson Animal) and I do use my swiffer wet on my hard-wood floors to pick up the hair. Plus, I think I should own stock in lint rollers. It's not really unbearable, I just wish I could sit on my couch without looking like I'm turning in to a wear-wolf.

My puppy doesn't mind me using a furminator and he lets me vacuum him (gently) too. I think he's grown to enjoy the ritual. **I use my mom's built-in home vacuum, so its super quiet and I use a VERY low suction, Rockstar can't stand the regular push-around vacuum.**

I also got this static type rubber brush to use on him. It isn't my favorite by any stretch, but it helps get the thick guard hairs to loosen up. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750607&lmdn=Product+Type I also think it feels like a massage when I use it on him. I don't know about your corgis, but Rockstar likes a good lower back/butt area rub since its hard for him to reach.

A Furminator and a Dyson are a homeowners best companions! I have the same problem as Bev, my dogs don't blow their coats at the same time. During the spring blow, I take the dogs outside, way to the back of the yard and brush them there. Last spring, my neighbor thought I had shaved one of the dogs when I got through. I leave the hair on the ground, and by the next day, between breezes and the birds, it's all gone. The birds in our area have the softest and warmest nest around, I bet

We use the furminator and a rake regularly but also learned to live with hair since mine don't blow their coats at the same time!

I would like to publically thank the person who invented the Furminator. With three corgis who tend to blow coat simultaneously, the Furminator after bathing and Mason Pearson hairbrush takes care of both my fluffy and short coated, short legged sweeties. The Furminator really works specifically tackling that undercoat. I did make the investment and it has reduced the dog hair on my hardwood flooring.

I don't have a furminator (quite expensive here) but have a grooming rake (what a badname) that cost $13 and is really good. He still sheds a tiny bit of hair after I brush him but its gets so much off him.

It has plastic teeth that are supposed to massage the skin. The one we got for Potus was for medium haired dogs, not long like in the link.

I found that the furminator was the best investment I have made in the on going battle for shedding. And I agree with Meredith, to do it outside. Less to clean up.

Let's see- I end up sweeping the house every day, use the furminator every other day, and use those sticky roller things (or masking tape) to get the fur off from everything else. Luckily my couch is leather, so I just wipe that down every other day. Shop vacs work great for under the bed, behind doors, and behind well everything. LOL
I feel for you, Ella is a super shredder. This week I considered using the tape roller on her, but thought that would be mean.
