Singing to your Corgi What do you sing to them?

When I bathe Chloe I generally sing "baby baluga", "Shake , Shake, your booty but substitute corgi for booty, and my favorite things.  I go to a self service dog wash so I wonder if anyone hears me. I cannot be the only one who sings to their dog.

I don't sing, but I play Adele for him to relax.

We often sing modified versions of songs to Kaylee, often involving her name. The Eurovision 2012 runner-up " Party For Everybody" by Buranovskie Babushki is a favorite with the modification "come on and FRAP."  Also the traditional "My Sone John" is fun to make new lyrics to and sing to her.

I like hearing about the different songs we sing to our animals. I believe that singing a silly song to your furry friend in front of people is the epitome of love.

Love really does make you a fool haha.

Haha these stories make me laugh. Whenever my husbands sings or hums my dogs will howl in tune!!!!! I will have to post a video some time. He is the only one they will do it to!!!!! And when I sing to my pups I make up silly songs that have there names in it.

My husband sings "How Much is That Doggie in the Window?" to Griffin when we dremel his nails or bathe him.

I don't sing very often but I do sing "I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Wynner...everyone would be in love with me".

I sing "You are my Sunshine" to Noodles all the time. When I start, he will curl up in my lap and then he gives me kisses on my nose throughout the song.

Our dogs have their own song too.   We change the first two verses to suit the occasion:  "Supper puppies, they are supper puppies.   It's time for supper and they are supper supper puppies", for instance.  The third line is always just "puppy puppy, puppy puppy puppies."   It's silly.  We only sing it in the house!   I'm embarrassed to say it's the tune from "stinky britches" from South Park.... I think we started singing it once when Madison needed a bath and then we just kept changing the words all the time.

The cat's name is Boo and we sing "Kitty the Boo" to the tune of "Winnie the Pooh."  She gets better words, such as "She's pretty and she's witty and she's Kitty the Boo."

I've been putting off commenting because I didn't want to find out the "character max" for a comment box. ;-) In short, I sing to my dogs every day for absolutely everything.

Murphy had 3 songs I sang to him regularly when I was feeling extra gooey toward him. One of his nicknames was "Pig" and I had a song for that: "Mr. PIIIIG a piggity pig. Piggity pig-pig a pig-a-pigpig." And I also called him "Meesto" so he had his "Meesto Me is a Beesto Be!" on repeat. And his "Toby" song... he went from "Mister" to "Meesto" to "Beesto" to "Beeto" and I would sing "Bee... TO! BeeTO beeTO.. be Toby Toby Toby Toby toe!" It would eventually change from "Beeto" to "Toby" and it was just funny. I had a little swingy dance I would do while singing them and he would just smile and shake his fluffy butt. I think of these times fondly. RIP little man. ;-)

Maya is called "Pean-cess" [used to be "Princess"] so she has her "Pean-cess Pean... a Bean-cess Bean... Pean-sa-pean is a Bean-sa-bean!" song.. and Moses doesn't really have a unique one besides "Skip to My Lou" because he's "Lou" sometimes. My dogs don't even know their real names anymore.

Maverick's butt looked like a bear cub butt [more so than a rabbit tushy] so he became my "Baby Bear". When he was about 7 weeks he started chasing after me in the field, only to get distracted by leaves or sticks. I wanted to get him super worn out so I could do dishes [haha!] so I would tell him that "leaves and sticks are everywhere!" then it became his song that is never ending and always changing. "Leaves and sticks are EVERYWHERE. Yes they are so EVERYWHERE. Come on little Baby BEAR. Stop your sittin' over THERE." and it goes on with whatever rhymes that applies to the situation.

Breakfast and dinner get the "Want some kibs and nummy num nums? Nummy num nums for your tummy tum tums??" song.. and any kind of thought that turns into a song throughout the day. Songs just sound funner.. and more interesting to a pup!

PS I love "Can't Keep a Good Dog Dow-wow-wow-wow-wown!" and I LOOOOOOOVE the "Little Bubs" song. I read it to my boyfriend, who smiled because he knows how much I love babies and their songs.

If there's something on the radio or TV that's worth singing, Tobi gets to hear my crazy voice. Although he paid pretty good attention to All Dogs Go to Heaven ... kinda dug "Can't Keep a Good Dog Down!"
